The International Literature Showcase is a project to present the best of British literature to the world.
The first of this year's showcases saw Elif Shafak selecting 10 brilliant women writers.
In this podcast Georgina Godwin speaks to Elif and they discuss the importance of championing British literature and what it's like to be referred to as a 'female writer'.
We also speak to some of the authors selected for this ILS showcase including Jessie Greengrass, Kapka Kassabova and Denise Mina.
