In a time of crisis and critical business decision-making, Jackie van Niekerk and her incredible team at Attacq Ltd leveraged their commitment to building a business focused on the needs of people to not only survive the economic onslaught but thrive through it. I asked Jackie about her own career journey, what she has learned along the way and how she sees the future for growing professionals in South Africa.  

⭐️ ABOUT JACKIE VAN NIEKERK

With over 15 years of experience in the property industry, Jackie is the CEO of Attacq Ltd. For those who do not know - Attacq stewards an impressive property portfolio that includes Waterfall City and Mall of Africa, among many others. Jackie joined Pivotal Property Fund in 2009 and became the youngest and only woman CEO in the property sector, growing the organisation to an R12 billion listed development fund. Jackie joined Attacq as the COO in April 2017 and was appointed CEO about a year ago. I met Jackie when we started collaborating with Attacq on brand, communications and a couple of other things, and I was immediately impressed by her down-to-earth nature and steady, confident leadership. What I’ve learned from Jackie so far is to be careful not to over-complicate things, and that there is always a workable solution - our job is to find it and make it happen.
