Why I don't drink
Update: 2023-12-03
Description
There are a lot of reasons I do not drink. Some reasons I have done and other reasons I am simply being responsible. Seeing people drive under the influence, and have done it myself as well, is always a reminder of how idiotic it is. I actively choose to drive myself everywhere and thinking about others and myself is what keeps me from drinking in public. Not only that, listening to people like Andrew Huberman talk about the effects of alcohol on the human body and mind and how it is essentially poison to the body. The human body has to process alcohol multiple times to finally make it into something it can use. In a health conscious way, I am choosing my health over a fun time or what others would consider a fun time. Others depend on alcohol to have a good time and I have learned to not need it. It still is a social lubricant and so I have seen those effects with others and myself. I have used it before to open up and let my guard down. However, I do not see enough of an advantage as a I do a disadvantage. There are times I will still have a drink, but it would depend on the kind of drink, where I am, and who is around.
