Description

Lately, I’ve been struggling with something I didn’t have a name for until recently - demand avoidance. Tasks that used to feel manageable, like switching laundry or clearing the counter, suddenly feel heavy, frustrating, or impossible. Even the things I want to do are met with resistance, and it’s been hard to understand why.

After doing some research, I realized this is something a lot of people with ADHD deal with, and I’m not alone. In this episode, I’m sharing what I’ve learned about demand avoidance, why it’s been showing up so strongly in my life, and how it often gets worse as we get older and take on more responsibilities.

I’ll also walk you through the strategies I’ve started trying, what’s helped, what hasn’t, and how I’m learning to work with my brain instead of fighting against it.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated with yourself, this episode is for you. You are not lazy or broken. Let’s talk about what’s really going on and how to move forward with more self-compassion and less pressure.
