Why was James Reimer an Issue?
Description
NHL goalie for the San Jose Sharks declines to wear Pride jersey because it contradicts his personal faith. Why is this an issue?
No, seriously, why is this an issue?
We are so busy protecting the rights and beliefs of “protected classes” that it’s become ok to discriminate against the same rights and beliefs of others. The non-protected.
James Reimer took a stand for what he believed in. He didn’t disrespect or attack the pride community. He simply chose not to support it. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like he’ll be disciplined or black-listed for his decision (not yet anyway), and that’s great, but why did this story deserve national attention?
Because he’s a goalie in the NHL? Or maybe it’s because he’s a white male who doesn’t support the forced agenda or narrative on society?
I’ll let you answer that for yourself.
However, since we’ve decided to make this a topic of interest, how about we congratulate this man instead for standing by what he believes and daring to confirm his faith despite knowing the heat he would take for doing so?
Yes, James Reimer knew it was going to happen, but he prepared a statement and he did it anyway. That takes courage and I have nothing but respect for the decision he made.
Instead of forcing people to participate in your inclusion events “or else”, maybe you should practice what you preach and just leave people alone.
James Reimer declined to be included but instead of respecting his decision, you decided to include him in a different way.
Shame on you and much respect to James Reimer.
We need more courageous men like you.
