It was my great pleasure to interview Coach Danny T. Saunders, my strength training coach, for this episode of The Mental Arts podcast. At the gym, you can find him teaching clients of all ages how to pick up heavy things and then put them back down. Danny is one of the most skilled trainers I’ve met in this field, in terms of his dedication to the art and his unique way of looking at the world and how it impacts our strength, both mentally and physically. Danny believes that strength is for everyone, regardless of age or prior skill. It shows in his passion for learning as much as possible to help construct programs for his clients and to teach them that they are more than their limitations. He is an amazing individual, funny as hell, and an enemy to bad excuses and self-doubt. I agree with his clients when they say: “Daniel is more than just a fitness trainer, he is a life coach” and that “Danny has character.”
