ലോർ ക്ലെയർ ഫൗച്ചർ എഴുതിയത് പണ്ട് ഒരു ആട് തന്റെ ഏഴ് കുട്ടികളോടൊപ്പം താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഒരു ദിവസം അവൾ പുറത്തു പോയപ്പോൾ ഒരു ചെന്നായ അവളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്ന് അവളുടെ എല്ലാ കുട്ടികളെയും തിന്നു. ചെന്നായ ഉറങ്ങുന്നത് കണ്ട അമ്മ ആട് മക്കളെ പുറത്തെടുക്കാൻ വയറ് മുറിച്ച് കല്ലുകൊണ്ട് നിറച്ചു. ചെന്നായ ഉണർന്ന് വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാൻ നദിയിലേക്ക് പോയപ്പോൾ കല്ലുകളുടെ ഭാരത്താൽ മുങ്ങിമരിച്ചു.
