Description
Tools for Humanitys World App Evolves: New Messaging, Financial Services, and PaymentsTools for Humanity, the company behind the World App, is expanding its platform significantly. They are moving beyond just digital identity and crypto payments, aiming to become a super app. This means adding encrypted messaging and more financial services directly into their application.Earlier this week, the company introduced an in-app messaging feature with end-to-end encryption. This new chat system can tell the difference between verified and unverified World ID accounts, and it also lets users send or ask for digital assets right within their conversations. The World App now supports various third-party mini-apps, including prediction markets, games, and other financial tools, all running inside the chat interface. Tools for Humanity also plans to add optional profile photo verification to help prevent impersonation and misuse on the platform.Meanwhile, the World App has also increased its support for stablecoins, now including USDC, EURC, and several Latin American peso-linked tokens. The update also brings new yield products, offering attractive rates of up to eighteen percent on Worldcoin holdings and up to fifteen percent on USDC, powered by the DeFi protocol Morpho. In a significant move for payments, users in Argentina will now be able to pay at over one million merchants using QR codes through the app. Additionally, the update introduces US dollar virtual accounts, powered by Bridge, in eighteen countries, including the United States and Japan. This allows users to receive wages, fund accounts from traditional banks, and spend USDC directly within the app.
