Description

Recorded live from the panel discussion at our event Common Threads in October 2019.

This lively discussion talks to six women who work in the textiles and fashion industry, with a focus on looking at the links between African and Caribbean textiles and designs. Insightful, humorous and nostalgic at points, the discussion explores cross cultural collaborations, The Swahili khanga, social status, the history of Madras fabrics in the Caribbean and rediscovering traditional African fabrics which are disappearing.
