In the summer of 2019, Kevin Durant, despite an Achilles injury, signed with the Brooklyn Nets, leaving the New York Knicks in the dust. The Knicks had a unique strategy to lure Durant, involving the Wu-Tang Clan and other rappers. They created a music video, but it failed to sway Durant, who signed with the Nets just two days after receiving the video. This wasnt the first time the Knicks used celebrity recruitment, previously trying to lure LeBron James with Tony and Carmela Soprano from The Sopranos.
