So do you think you need to be an "Alpha"?

Humans really don't know what a leader looks like in most cases. We see a puffed up loud and overbearing person and think, "Gee that person is strong and speaks their mind, they Must be a great powerful leader". In reality this "leader" they adore is showing all of the signs of insecurity and anxious controlling weakness. When I am told by a client that one of their dogs is "dominant" I know immediately that the dog in question is weak and insecure. Leaders don't overcompensate or dominate. True leaders don't even think about being a leader beyond what it means to care for their people or followers. The moment you have to tell your followers that you are the leader or that you have to show them who is the boss guess what, You aren't a real leader.
