Description

Many of us are being advised to stay at home and avoid social contact to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. Human interaction is a vital component of happiness, so Dr Laurie Santos asks Stanford's Professor Jamil Zaki to explain his research into how we can maintain meaningful links to our loved ones, friends and colleagues even if we can't be in the same room with them.

I am so grateful to my family of origin. Social distance was thrust upon me 3 decades ago. The disgust I feel for human beings due to the lack of empathy from everyone I ever knew has become a blessing. It cheers me up to watch comfortable people suffer. The over the top way I value my children has made me anything but lonely. Who knew social isolation could be so good for you?
