In this episode we discuss loneliness and how it is magnified by the lack of “third places” especially in the US. A third place is a place to go other than home (your first place) and work/school (your second place) to engage with people and build community. We talk about how the lack of public transport, inefficient city planning, safety concerns, costs, and technology have impacted our ability to comfortably socialize. This episode reminded us how valuable and important it is to be intentional and outgoing when given the chance to connect with others.
