Rampant and open drug use, weapons and violence have become commonplace in B.C. hospitals since drug decriminalization was enacted, thereby threatening the safety of both patients and front-line health workers says the British Columbia Nurses Union (BCNU).
A leaked internal memo from B.C.'s Northern Health Authority, covering the northern half of the province revealed staff at hospitals within the region had been instructed to tolerate drugs and weapons at their workplaces.

This past week the Liberal government which recently declared it would cut $1-billion from military spending released its long overdue defence policy named Our North, Strong and Free: A Renewed Vision for Canada's Defence.
The new policy is exploring spending many $-billions spread out over years in order to provide the CAF with equipment ranging from submarines, helicopters, ships, missile systems, modern artillery and long range air and sea lauched missiles. - More CAF members will be recruited (we're approximately 16K short at present) in order to create a credible fighting and defence force.
Canada's annual defence spending is required to be 2% of GDP under NATO agreement. The new spending will still not reach that 2% of GDP requirement/commitment and our NATO allies are not pleased.

Apr 7: Tony Boulet on the legacy of son, Humbolt Broncos player Logan Boulet.
Today is national Green Shirt Day. In honour of the Logan Boulet Effect, in support of organ donation awareness across Canada. Logan was an 18 year old defenceman on the Humboldt Broncos hockey team which 6 years ago yesterday was decimated in the horrendous crash with an 18 wheel semi truck. Of the 29 passengers 16 lost their lives and the other 13 will live with the scars of that day for the remainder of their lives.
Six years ago today Logan Boulet died. He had signed his organ donor card and because of Logan's generosity six people lived on with Logan's organs.

As the public inquiry into foreign (China) interference in Canada continues, with among others PM Justin Trudeau scheduled to testify at the hearing he did not want and his appointed special rapporteur and former Governor General David Johnston said last year would not take place, we hear from the president of the World Uygher Congress Dolkun Isa, a short-listed candidate for the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize and author of The China Freedom Trap: My Life on the Run.
Canada's parliament voted unanimously in support of a motion declaring the Beijing government to be engaging in Genocide against its Uygher population, although the entire Liberal federal cabinet left the room before the vote took place.
Guest: Dolkun Isa. President, World Uygher Congress. Was declared a murderer by the Chinese Communist Party and a Red Notice was filed with Interpol by Beijing. Dolkun Isa's struggles continue as do his fears of Beijing's agents worldwide.
