Self-awareness is a crucial component of personal growth and development, but there are common barriers that can impede our ability to be self-aware. In this episode, we'll explore those barriers and provide practical tips and techniques for overcoming them. We'll discuss the fear of self-examination, lack of introspection, lack of feedback, over-identification with thoughts and emotions, and lack of mindfulness. By recognizing and overcoming these barriers, we can develop a more accurate and compassionate understanding of ourselves and our impact on the world around us. This episode is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their self-awareness and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Whether you're a student, professional, or simply interested in personal growth, you'll find valuable insights and strategies in this episode. Self-awareness is the ability to recognize one's own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they impact oneself and others. It's a crucial component of personal growth and development, but there are some common barriers that can impede our ability to be self-aware. Here are some of those barriers and ways to overcome them: Fear of self-examination: Many people are afraid to examine themselves deeply because they fear what they might find. They may be afraid of confronting negative aspects of their personality or past experiences that they would rather forget. To overcome this fear, it's important to approach self-examination with an open and non-judgmental attitude. Try to see your thoughts and emotions objectively and with compassion, as you would with a friend. Lack of introspection: Some people are simply not in the habit of examining their own thoughts and behaviors. They may be too busy or too focused on external factors to pay attention to their own internal experiences. To overcome this barrier, make a conscious effort to set aside time for introspection each day. This can be as simple as spending a few minutes journaling or reflecting on your day. Lack of feedback: Without feedback from others, it can be difficult to gain a clear picture of oneself. This feedback can come in the form of constructive criticism or praise, but it's important to seek out both positive and negative feedback to get a balanced view of oneself. To overcome this barrier, ask trusted friends or colleagues for honest feedback, and be willing to listen and learn from their perspective. Over-identification with thoughts and emotions: Sometimes people become so attached to their thoughts and emotions that they can't see beyond them. They may identify with negative thoughts or emotions and see them as a permanent part of their personality. To overcome this barrier, try to cultivate a sense of detachment from your thoughts and emotions. Remind yourself that thoughts and emotions are temporary and don't define who you are. Lack of mindfulness: Mindfulness is the ability to be present in the moment and aware of one's own thoughts and emotions. Without mindfulness, it can be difficult to recognize and understand one's own internal experiences. To overcome this barrier, practice mindfulness meditation or other mindfulness techniques. These can help you become more aware of your own thoughts and emotions and increase your overall self-awareness. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wotcwam/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wotcwam/support

Highlights: So what that means being a man in a relationship or dating in today's society in South Florida or whatever, and what women to expect when they meet guys and guys able to share their truth. Because one of the things that when I talk to Sellers, they were like, oh, we finally get a chance to speak our mind, finally get a chance to share our feelings, our thoughts, because we aren't allowed that platform.. So we wanted to create that platform. That's just it. So when it boils down to it, as any man or woman, as any man or woman, we have to get to a point where we're not putting people in a section. And we have to get to a point where understanding that people are unique. Just like a fingerprint, no matter what, you put your fingerprint here and I put my fingerprint the same pace that the FBI came to cite it. They'd be like, it's two different people. The moment that we put people in a box, we only put them in that box or we put them in a space where they can only survive. The moment that we allow people to swim freely and allow people to be who they are is the moment we can literally say from within ourselves that we're able to accept people as they are. Put it like this. You go into the wild, the first thing you think is danger. Am I lying? You go into the wild, the first thing you think is danger. Men, you feel like you have some type of power. Power only comes from within. It does not come from who gives it to you. It only comes from within. You cannot say, I got power. Congratulations. You got power. whoopi do? But where is that coming from? Who's that power given to? You can't necessarily just say, now, you're a fish. You can swim in the open water. You can. You'll die. You're not fit to feel it to swim in the wild. You're fit to swim in this aquarium. But you may be in a place also that man is ahead of you. And you got to be okay with that. Because if you're not okay with that, guess what? You're placing yourself in the box and you're placing that man in the box. We have placed too many rules on each other. And I find more people that I've seen on my Facebook, right. That are not in relationships, are not married or not. They're just not because of the fact they have basically put themselves in a box. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wotcwam/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wotcwam/support
