We had an extra question to Michael that we forgot to ask. And he responded with 17 minute audio file, which I could not retelll. Thus, here is the addeendum to our interview.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Greetings, Comrades! After the terror attack in Moscow and an accumulated metric ton of questions from the Russian oppositon side, I decided that it was the right time to grab Michael from The Red Line podcast and have a talk about the big picture. ISIS-K, a subgroup of the Islamic terrorist organisation, attacked a concert hall in Moscow yesterday, with over 60 dead and many more wounded. Here's everything that I've gathered about what happened, how we know who did it and a bit of analysis on what it means.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. Final results of Putin’s farcical pseudo-voting event are in: absoulutely no surprises there. Also, Belgorod is still under assault, but still we have nothing reliable. Except that there are battles there.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The event, formerly known as "elections" is happening in Russia - and of course, it's falsified, turned into a farce and has nothing to do with any actual choice by the people. Which makes it kind of fun, if it wouldn't be so tragic.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We're back to the regular programming, amidst turbulent personal life aand controversial interviews. On the weird side, Putin recently attempted to claim that Belgium exists because of Russia, the so-called election is a mess and some genuinely sad stuff.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. After all the funeral stuff and everything surrounding it, I wanted to do a breather episode again. This time, with Desolator Magic, one of the most important M:TG YouTubers out there. We talk Magic: The Gathering, politics, everyday life and survival. It's a fun listen, hope you'll enjoy it. He's more right leaning than my other guests have been lately, but we talk about that too. In this episode, I compare and contrast two important speeches: Putin's address to the Federal Council and Yulia Navalnaya's speech to the Europarliament.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Greetings, Comrades! In this episode, I focus on the Kremlin media leaks and what we've found about the propaganda activities that Russia organize both in the west and in the occupied territories.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. So, it's been two full years of war ar this point.  Two full years of ongoing insanity, violence and   immense human suffering. We're entering year 3, and I've chosen this moment to remind You all why exactly we simply must do everything we can to support Ukraine. To remind you that war is, and can never be, "the new normal". Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
As the recent events were a bit...much, I invited a Latvian/American journalist Karlis  Streips to help me analyze what's going on and why. Now, mr. Streips is a bit more radical that my own views, especially when it comes to the Republican party, but I find his insight and knowledge valuable.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. So, Navalny's dead. That actually took me by surprise. So, this episode is about his biography, views, impact and why it's just normal that he had to die. Just...maybe not as quickly.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
One thing is for sure, that was not an interview. It was, however, exactly how Putin and his propaganda talk all the time for the "internal marker" and they actually believe that too. All of it. Yes. And here are Victor's charity links! on god the acast ads happen at the most inopportune times... last time you were vociferously cursing the EU and this time you were talking about kids being "doomed to die" (spoiler: we all are). this is not the only time... "X" ad boycotters should take note... publicity is publicity...its adjacency to a certain topic is really of no consequence... the ad space will be used by someone... the fear of adjacency may indicate a guilty conscience if anything lol

I enjoyed this episode getting some other voices the podcast and it sounds like Kristaps did too. I am also interested to hear a continuation of the series about colonization of the Russian far east and Alaska.

This is definitely a good show and I appreciate the eastern European perspective on Russia and Ukraine but it is confusing when Kristaps asks for donations and doesn't clarify if it is for charitable causes or his own personal use.

Despite it's name, this podcast doesn't really give any more perspective on topics. It is just repeating things we already heard about. Nothing new to hear.

The mood of this episode is so calm. In previous episodes there was a frenzy and concern, and it sounds like you have found a weary peace.
