Description

SEASON 07 WILL BEGIN FRIDAY JULY 28TH

Unexplained is a haunting and unsettling bi-weekly podcast about strange and mysterious real life events that continue to evade explanation. A story-based show mixing spoken-word narrative, history and ideas - often to terrifying effect - that explores the space between what we think of as real and what is not; where sometimes belief can be as concrete as ‘reality,’ whatever that is…

Second part of Season 07 Episode 12: The Jungle Never Sleeps So much of this story is comparable to a walk into the jungle - perhaps the very same walk that Lisanne and Kris embarked upon on.  All that can be done of course is to try and retrace the steps - their steps - and piece together what little clues there are. Please consider a few more commercials in your otherwise eerie tales. Nothing jars a listener out of their contemplation better than another ad break! Your approaching US AM radio level. I honestly don’t want to listen anymore.

I'm still waiting for the underground sex cult of Scientology to be exposed. These founders were into some freak nasty shit and Hubbard was known for his wild stories so I can only imagine the type of creative nastiness that went on behind closed doors lol

I find it oddly hilarious that the group of free love "do as you will" people freak out when their significant other sleeps with someone else or does sex magic with someone else 😂 I think open relationships are so gross, people who argue against this say that it's more "natural" for people to engage in sexual activity with more than one partner but i disagree. We're animals yes and we have animalistic tendencies but we've also evolved to a much higher realm than basic animal urges TBC...

So...I heard the comment at minute 35:36 and as a white person I can attest that no, I do not feel comfortable by anything I hear from the "white people news." It's all made to mislead and misdirect to keep EVERYONE'S attention elsewhere, it's why I don't watch news of any kind anymore. What the actual fuck. I guess enjoy your racist news on whatever pod cast this was advertising for?

Love the show and I understand the need to generate revenue from the content created but 2 minutes of ads at the start, 2 minutes a third in, 2 minutes 2/3rds through and 2 minutes at the end has made this show near unbearable to listen to now. And so I won't. Thanks for the years of entertainment and I hope it can return to the great show it once was.

This was the first in depth story I've heard about the Dyatlov Pass, it was nice to hear about their personal lives and who they were as adults, didn't realize they were practically the X men but that just makes this loss all that much more devastating, they sound like they would have really been able to contribute some good to humanity

I think at this point it's just ignorant to believe that we're the only life form out there, I mean a 1 in 60 billion chance that we're it? There's life out there and I'm sure one day our worlds will collide but when I see people who still don't believe in other life forms it just floors me how they can even think that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why wasn't the POLICE DEPARTMENT ordered to pay the fine? And they re-hired the son of a bitch! I'd call it unbelievable but sadly, it really, really isn't. Hope he's in hell with live rattlesnakes up his ass.

I have been listening to Unexplained from the beginning, and it's sad to see how far the quality has fallen. Since becoming AV club affiliated, the ads have become obnoxious and repetitive, 8 minutes in a 40 min episode. Richard no longer writes the episodes, and the revolving door of writers are a poor substitute. There's nothing here to match the eerie stories from the earlier seasons. a real shame.

Skip to 13:35 for the story. Before this is commercials and a long philosophical speech

I feel like they could have named it anything other than "the quacker." I just keep trying to picture the captain of a submarine turning to his crewman and whispering "quiet lads, you hear that? It's the quacker..." and then all seriousness of the situation goes out the window
