Yes he is.
Martin Luther King said not to judge by the color of one’s skin so let’s stop doing it.
Better to face a political backlash than go to prison.
If sanctions don’t work, there may be no other choice.
The Republican senators who voted not to repeal Obamacare preserved health coverage for 20 million Americans.
They have as much reason to fear us as we do them.
Although evidence points to possible treason, the GOP base won’t deal with the truth.  As Ted Koppel said to Sean Hannity, “You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.”  This is dangerous territory in which our country finds itself.
On this new episode of Hard Truths: There are scary similarities between the Nixon and Trump administrations. Trump, like Nixon, loves dictators, blames leaks for his problems, and obstructed an investigation of his associates. Both dismissed the chief investigator looking into criminal allegations at the highest level. Will history repeat itself? Listen today!
The war on drugs has created more problems than it’s solved. Drug cartels are expanding. Drug related crime is escalating. Drug addicts get their fix by robbing and killing for cash. Should we surrender?
We assume we'll always have a free country, but in times like these, our democracy is at risk. Our president is brimming with conflicts of interest, and his family is using his position to enrich themselves. Trump praises dictators who violate human rights and murder their own people. Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Do we take our freedoms for granted?
College football and basketball players argue that they're exploited because they don’t get paid to play. Most of these athletes wouldn’t be in college if they weren’t sports stars. They get free education, plus access to  luxury housing, private tutors and million dollar amenities. Meanwhile, your average student works low wage jobs to pay athletic fees to fund these athletes’ lavish lifestyles. These already spoiled jocks are asking for more! Is this justified?
On this episode of Hard Truths, co-host Rob Reider shares about the loss of his wife, his 30 year old daughter and his younger brother in a space of a 28 months period. It was a time that shook his faith yet he remains a follower of Christ. How does one hold on to their faith in light of these kinds of tragedies?
The income tax has grown exponentially over the years. Considering federal, state and local taxes, most Americans pay nearly 30% of their income to the government. Because the IRS requires taxes to be withheld, we don’t realize how much they’re taking until we look at our paystub. This unfair system is skewed, leaving the working poor and middle class feeling the brunt. I propose taxing wealth (such as the estate tax) instead of income. And tax cuts ought to be aimed at the working poor and the middle class, not high earners. Do you agree or disagree? Listen to this episode before you decide!
HT 027 Student Debt

HT 027 Student Debt

2017-05-0105:24

On this episode of Hard Truths, we discuss student loan debt and the affects that it has on our children’s lives long term. Lenders can go after students the rest of their lives because student loan debt is not dischargeable in bankruptcy. Kids are leaving college neck-deep in debt. College tuition continues to soar. Why do schools have no incentive to keep costs down? Because the federal government guarantees the loans. If you are the parent of a college age child you want to listen to this episode!
On this episode of Hard Truths, we dive into what is important in the leaders and candidates we support. Are we willing to ignore lies and scandal in order to “get what we want?"
On this episode of Hard Truths, we separate the truth from alternative facts. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And do Republicans even care?
HT 024 March Madness

HT 024 March Madness

The holiest time of the year. What was it? March Madness! And I did not give that up. What did you give up for Lent?
Limiting yourself to 140 characters leaves no space for cross examination.
They don’t care about his lies, as long as he’s with us on the issues.
It's cruel and unnecessary.
