The 'cats are back, and this time they brought pals. Friends Ethan and Aarthi join Sean and Whit to discuss what we like in scary movies, what the best scary movies have in common, and what unique contributions scary movies offer to the cinematic.

The 'cats are back! Sean and Whit talk about blockbusters: what are they exactly, what are they trying to say, and what do they say about us. Sean also reveals his true feelings about Christopher Nolan, and Whit gets upset about biopics.
The 'cats are back! Sean and Whit discuss Richard Linklater's Before trilogy (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight) in-depth and take a hard look at what love means in the age we live in. Note: clips from the Before trilogy have been trimmed for time, but any dialogue has been left in tact and unedited. Originally recorded February 26, 2017.

2017-01-3101:10:34

The 'Cats tackle two of the best coming-of-age movies of the twenty-first century: Boyhood (2014) and Moonlight (2016), and manage to discuss the origins of empathy and cinema's role in reinforcing it, film as a medium for social justice, what does it mean to ethically produce and make film, and the ethical constraints of a film industry in a capitalist system, to boot. Oh, and a lot of weird references to Transformers 4, but that's just a bonus.
The 'Cats talk Last Summer, a film made in Arkansas and available on Netflix, and what it means to stay in and grow in the South.
The 'Cats debate which Kubrick film is the Kubrickiest. They might even have an answer, but it won't be one you expect.
