As Jesus starts to land the epic Sermon on the Mount, He gives us a stark choice between two roads, and Pastor Heulwen encourages us to take deliberate steps on the road less travelled.
In Part 15 of the series, we tackle some of Jesus’ most famous words to do unto others as you would have them do to you, alongside a massive invitation to bold prayers. So let’s be intentional in love, as well as passionate and persistent in prayer.
As we hit part 14 of the series, and enter Matthew 7, Pastor Heulwen tackles Jesus’ teaching on Measures of Mercy. There is now no condemnation in Jesus, so let’s not go bringing it back!
In Part 13 of the series, Jesus tackles a topic that is more relevant than ever in modern life - worry. Pastor Steffan explores the radical nature of Jesus teaching on anxiety, and how the Kingdom way brings freedom. Worry has no place in Kingdom living, so let’s focus on the Father.
In Part 12 of the series, Pastor Steffan follows Jesus’ lead, and returns once again to the dangerous topic of money, leaving us with a decision to make. For if Jesus is Lord, we will become indifferent to Mammon, but if Mammon is Lord we will become indifferent to Jesus, so let’s choose well.
In Part 11 of the series Pastor Heulwen delves into one of the most famous passages in the Bible, The Lord’s Prayer, where we’re given the scaffolding for supplication, so we can pray the Jesus way.
At the start of Matthew 6 Jesus tackles a topic that’s often all too close to our hearts - money. In Part 10 of the series, Pastor Heulwen looks at how Jesus assumes generosity in the Kingdom, and how it’s really not about the money, it’s about the motive.
As we reach the end of Matthew 5, and Part 9 of the series, we encounter Jesus’ teaching on a perfect kind of love. Jesus encourages us and challenges us to an above and beyond, universal kind of love, and to love perfectly as the Father loves perfectly.
In part 8 of the series, Pastor Heulwen looks at some of Jesus’ most famous teaching on personal ethics. When faced with hurtful humans, this passage points us to the Kingdom way, reminding us that we have a mission to heal, not harm.
In today’s age of manipulative spin, Jesus challenges us to be an authentic people of simple, honest truth. In part 7 of the series Pastor Heulwen reminds us that a lack of truthfulness is a by-product of our selfishness, so let’s be a people of integrity, whose yes means yes, and whose no means no.
In part six, Jesus takes us into even more controversial territory in the Sermon on the Mount, as he tackles Marriage and Divorce. Yet as we wrestle with this text, contrary to what may be our expectations, we find Jesus’ teaching on this area still remains good news for all, that what God has made one, should not be undone.

Hebrews 11 tells us that without faith it’s impossible to please God, and in this final message from the Faith Series, Pastor Steffan illustrates this principle in the calling of Simon in Luke 5. The question for us is - will we be a people who go into the deep?
In this special Christmas episode of the podcast, Pastor Steffan looks at the very nature of the Christmas message itself, that it is good news, not good advice; and how that should lead us to rejoice in response. Nadolig Llawen - Merry Christmas!
On Reason for God Sunday this year, the focus is on the laws of Physics, as Pastor Steffan turns to one of the reasons why he doesn’t have the faith to be an atheist - the fine-tuning argument or the anthropic principle. Everyone takes a leap of faith, but some a lot more than others, so reason says, play the odds. For more information, see ‘The Language of God’ by Dr Francis Collins, and ‘The Reason for God’, and ‘Making Sense of God’ by Dr Tim Keller.
In part five of the series we wade into controversial waters, as Jesus teaches on the topic of sex and lust. Pastor Steffan delves into the Biblical worldview on these issues, noting that sex is like fire, it can bring life and it can bring death; and how sex is ultimately a signpost to the greatest love story of all.
In part four of the Christianity 101 series, we examine Jesus’ teaching on anger, as Pastor Heulwen unpacks the Kingdom approach when the red mist descends.
In part two of the series we look at the Old Testament, an often controversial part of the Bible which many modern atheists attack. Pastor Steffan looks at Jesus’ take on the Old Testament, how he stamped it with His authority, and how knowing God means knowing the old covenant.
In the second part of the Christianity 101 series Pastor Heulwen continues through the Sermon on the Mount, as King Jesus makes clear our calling to be a people who change the world, one shaft of light, one grain of salt, at a time.
In the first of a new series, Christianity 101, Pastor Steffan turns to the Sermon on the Mount and looks at the radical, counter-cultural nature of the Kingdom of God, and Jesus’ revolutionary vision of a Kingdom lifestyle.

In the instagram age comparison can be a huge challenge, but it’s nothing new. Pastor Steffan turns to Jesus, Peter and John’s exchange in John 21, and draws out the answer for comparison - don’t stare and compare, just follow Jesus.
