I was recently at a meeting of the Barnegat Waretown Chamber of Commerce and I was asked a few questions about podcasting and promoting it. So I had a little mini education seminar on the topic. I love this kind of off the cuff type of teaching. Remember to subscribe to this podcast. When I left my job I made it a gradual departure by staying on to hire my replacement and work part time while I trained him. This gave me a small amount of money for an extra month and afforded me time to work on gathering more leads. However, when working in a situation like this emotional intelligence is critical. Emotional Intelligence is going to be one of the most important strengths for any entrepreneur.
After 20 years in the radio industry Bill was craving the freedom of entrepreneurship, however nothing comes easy. Bill talks about the need to chase the potential vs chasing the money. Gathering leads is what separates a business from a hobby. Listen as Bill recalls how over the “5 days that changed his life” he became more self-aware.With great role models Bill was able to use his father as inspiration for his work ethic and ability to reinvent one’s self. This is so critical as the security of a job fades and the stress of entrepreneurship develops. See a need, fill a need.
