What's in a word? Recently, social media erupted with news that rescheduling cannabis could become a possibility.  Taking cannabis from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3 would help businesses from a tax perspective, but what would it do on a bigger scale? We discussed with the director of drug markets and legal regulation at the Drug Policy Alliance Cat Packer the difference between rescheduling and decriminalization and moreSupport the showPresident and co-founder of LOCKGREEN Sarah Kiah Morton sat down with us to discuss how the idea of LOCKGREEN came to life, how this business is a family affair, and more.
Meet Chef Jadie Byrd. I met Jade last year for the first time when she asked me and my team to help her record a video for a new cooking show she will be a part of. That vibes were so cool that night that we've been locked in ever since. A true chef, she has mastered the culinary arts over the years through trial and error. 2024 looks like it's going to be a big one for her. Jade came by the studio to help us kick off the new year. We got into her love of cooking, infusing her dishes, working in Costa Rica, going vegan, and much more. Another interview from our time in Las Vegas for MjBiz. Sasha Nutgent serves as Retail Store Manager for the Housing Works Cannabis Co.  Prior to her role now at Housing Works Cannabis Co., Nutgent enjoyed a previous relationship with the company where she started out working in their thrift store before being promoted to manager of the store 6 months later. She's taken the skills she built in retail to help grow their cannabis arm. Everything from recruitment and training to inventory management, she does it all. We had a few minutes to speak with Sasha while in the press room this earlier this month about her role at Housing Works, what a retail manager does at dispensary, the grey market, piff and more. Listen nowSupport the showPresident and co-founder of LOCKGREEN Sarah Kiah Morton sat down with us to discuss how the idea of LOCKGREEN came to life, how this business is a family affair, and more.

You never know where you will end up. You can put together what you feel is the best plan ever. Find the best people possible to surround yourself with or have the most money, none of that guarantees where you will end up. I thought about that after listening to Colin Fraser. Founder of Maryland-based delivery service Upling, Colin would've never told you he would end up here being the face of a movement. That wasn't in his plans. Lucky for him, God had a different route. We spoke to Colin about being shot and spending time behind bars, what he learned from the moment, teaching himself coding, and how that led to the creation of Upling and more. Listen to our full episode now. This episode is sponsored by Dank Seeds. Recently, CashColorCannabis Podcast took a trip to Philadelphia for Black Cannabis Week! I met Dustin this past summer at a friend's house. I would mention the friend's name, but he's pretty laid back so I won't give him too much shine. But it was at his apartment in Atlanta that I was introduced to Dustin Hoxworth and Fat Nugs magazine, The cover of the magazine immediately attracted me. After flipping through a few pages, I was fully impressed with what he was doing. That day, I found out he lived in Atlanta and published the magazine here. It didn't dawn on me to invite him to the podcast until a few months ago. I'm glad that I had that opportunity. Dustin was an amazing guest. I got to learn a lot about him including his musical aspirations, his life in film, how the magazine came to life, and why he feels like independent media is needed in a world of pay-for-play. Stream my interview with Dustin now. This episode is sponsored by Tree One Eight. If you want to get your brand in front of the right audience, then you need to tap Tree One Eight. If Arica ever starts her own talk show, this should be the name of it. Journalist and podcaster Arica j is someone I truly consider a friend. I met her a few years ago when our show was still in our infancy. Since then, she has been a frequent collaborator for us and always someone who can keep the room laughing. It's crazy to say that this is my first time interviewing her. It was perfect timing. Ahead of the podcast that she co-hosts, Cannashame's Awareness Day Party, Arica sat with us to talk friendship, hip-hop and the things we hate, her upcoming event are more. Stream now. This episode is sponsored by Tree One Eight. If you want to get your brand in front of the right audience, then you need to tap Tree One Eight. I've said it before, but I'll say it again one more time. If you ever get a chance to speak with a grower, do it! Some of the most fascinating people on earth! Many have been working on the underground scene way before talk of legalization ever became a real conversation, growers are full of great stories. Over our 7-years of recording, I've had the chance to speak with some amazing growers. Add this conversation to that list. Dank Seeds founder Jon Callahan is a man who has seen the highs and lows of the industry. After realizing he was losing his passion for something he once loved, he re-branded himself with a new company after creating a business that he would go on to sell. We spoke with Jon about how Dank Seeds came to life, the differences between an indoor and outdoor grow, misconceptions when it comes to growing, what sets Dank Seeds apart from other companies, and more. Stream our full interview now! This episode and all episodes this month are sponsored by Tree One Eight. This episode is sponsored by Tree One Eight. And Tree One Eight. Some call her Alexis, some call her Hollywood. No matter how you address her, one thing stays the same, she gets results. Since transitioning from the grey market, Alexis now dedicates her time and energy to bringing awareness to local politicians about hemp and cannabis and how the plant could be a benefit to the state through her company Consulting Harris. Weeks after hosting her annual 710 Day at the State Capitol, Alexis came to Livehiphopdaily studios to sit with CashColorCannabis to discuss 710 Compassion Day, why she's not a lobbyist, the importance of lobbying, the reason cannabis is losing on the federal and more. Stream our full interview now. This interview is sponsored by Tree One Eight. If you want to get your brand in front of the right audience, then you need to tap Tree One Eight. They say there is power in numbers. That's a statement that the Grand Legacy Group lives by. The 8-person-led craft grow is set to launch operations in Illinois soon.  Pulling off that feat took a number of like-minded people to pool their finances and network to build the company. As they wait for the last few hurdles they must clear before officially launching, they are still trying to find ways to impact the community around them. CashColorCannabis Podcast had the chance to host two of the owners, Christine Johnson and Darade Collins. The two spoke about how the group came together, creative financing, having good friends and why your network is important,  S.A.F.E banking, and more. Listen to our full episode now. Issue #3 of CashColorCannabis Magazine is available now! Featuring interviews with "Waiting On the Plug" writer Richelle Scott, Executive Director of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management Chris Alexander. That's not all. We also spoke with some budding cannapreneurs about the NBA allowing players to invest in cannabis brands and later, took a look at unionization coming to cannabis.
