The Power of NO, let’s all embrace it more. The Non-Corporate Girls are Back in the Break Room to discuss how empowering it is to reclaim our time and get intentional on how we choose to exert our energy and with whom. Ayanna (@the_aya_brand), Carla (@creneemonae) and Delaila (@missdelailac) take you back to some of the exact moments when saying NO was transformational. Still a work in progress they each have become more comfortable with turning down projects, people and places that are no longer serving. We challenge you all to do the same. Take a listen to this episode and reflect back to when standing firm in your no’s became easier for you. A little different this episode our #ObsessedWith are things pertaining to our self healing journeys. When it comes to beauty trends we went to just the person who can give us the tea. Monique Bivens (@iambrazilianbabes), Founder and Owner of Brazilian Babes (@brazilianbabes_) had a chat with us about the standard of beauty and her impact on the industry. With 15+ years of experience, it has allowed her to ladder up to the Boss Babe she is. Understanding all facets of the business because she was once a student and then an employee has helped her to anticipate her client's needs and give a top-tier experience. For the girlies who love beauty chats and those who can relate to the feeling of trying so hard to fit a beauty standard that doesn't include them, this is a conversation that will resonate.Monique's #ObsessedWith is a good bag and all things workSupport the showDownload, Follow and Share on your favorite streaming platforms! We like to shake things up a bit at NCG. In the first ever of its kind our two hosts Ayanna (@the_aya_brand) and Delaila (@missdelailac) interview one another instead of a featured guest. The catch was that neither was able to view the questions prior and so each response shared is truly a testament from the heart to actual lived experiences. The exchange was honest, sincere, and eye-opening. With a level of candor and vulnerability both Ayanna and Delaila realized how much they have overcome and all the growth that has transpired in both their personal and professional lives. This week there is no #ObsessedWith, the conversation was solely focused on the host and their perspectives. Do listen to our Positive Notes, this week the angle was slightly different.Support the showDownload, Follow and Share on your favorite streaming platforms! All things good or bad eventually come to an end. Many things in our lives have an expiration date whether we realize or not. Just as season 5 wraps up the Non-Corporate Girls assess how certain people, spaces and things are no longer serving them anymore.  Ayanna (@the_aya_brand) and Delaila (@missdelailac) challenge their community to take inventory on what those things can be for you. Not everything you decide to let go will be easy but is necessary for your ascension and growth. In the meantime it’s not goodbye but see you later. Although there’s no “I” in team, individuality of each person should be embraced when managing teams. “Get Off Your High Horse” a phrase to help remind execs and managers to stop behaving in a manner of superiority. Ayanna (@the_aya_brand) and Delaila (@missdelailac) discuss the consequences of stifling the growth of your employees, team members or colleagues. In #LetsTalkAboutit the ladies speak of ways to practice surrendering control and instead building trust so that managers can expect for  tasks to be carried out and employees or team members can feel they have the space to flourish and complete those tasks confidently.
