It's been a while, kids. Over a year, actually. Good thing there's nothing like a quarantine to force us into doing another episode! I'm sorry for the longggg literal year long gap between this episode and the last, but... Nah. I've got no excuse. I'm just bad at this. But the past is the past and now is now! I've had a few beverages and now here we are. Selah is in a new school (before COVID, anyway...) and there's all kinds of new stuff going on. Have a listen and get caught up! Like what you hear? Leave us a review and let us know! We'll read it...
Selah and I sat down with her friend Caitlyn and talked about the last four months and what we've been up to! Plus we talk plays, Episcopalians, and Boyfriends. It's a fun one. Sorry it's been a little bit since our last episode.
Selah is a no-show on this episode, so her younger sister Grace and her older cousin Tabia volunteered to fill in! Somehow we end up talking about Tattoo's again, Grace tells a scary story about New Year's Eve and spreads some dirt on Selah. It's a fun one.
This one get's heated, folks. I really tried to have a good happy conversation about the new year with Selah, but she wouldn't stop yawning and arguing with me. We argue about a bunch of stuff, Selah wants to punch people, we argue some more, then we talk about dreams - creepy or otherwise.  We want to sincerely thank everybody for listening this year. We've had a lot of fun making these and hope you're enjoying them. I hope one of your new year resolutions is to turn some more people on to this podcast! As long as you keep listening and subscribing, we'll keep making them.  Happy 2019 everybody! I hope it's a real humdinger.
GUYS. OUR FRIEND KRISTIN GOT TO MEET EMMA WATSON AND WE'RE FREAKING OUT SO HARD THAT WE'RE WRITING THIS IN ALL CAPS. WE MADE HER COME IN AND TELL US ALL ABOUT IT AND OH MY GOD HERE'S THE WHOLE AMAZING TALE. ALSO A SONG AT THE END ABOUT HOW BAD WE WANT TO MEET EMMA WATSON.  Disclaimer: Sorry not sorry about all the Harry Potter stuff lately. We get a little obsessed.  Emma! Come on our Podcast!
Luke and Selah just saw the new Fantastic Beasts movie and oh boy are they in a good mood when they recorded this one. (Don't worry. No Spoilers...) Luke tries out his best British accent and basically nails it (although to be completely honest he sort of gets a bit Australian after a bit), They talk about how much they love all things Harry Potter, and learn they're not great at geography. Like, at all.  Want your own Selah's Shout-out? Email us at lukeandselah@gmail.com to learn how!
Happy November, guys and gals. Selah has a drama class so she shows up late for this episode. Thankfully, a few of her younger siblings sit with me in the beginning to talk about the perils and wonders of having Selah as an older sister. We also talk about "noobs", baseball vs. softball, and why Grace is scared of the basement. Finally Selah shows up and gives some shout outs and we talk about fan theories for a bit.  Remember to leave us a five star review! We will read your review on our next episode. Also - If you're interested in getting your very own "Selah's Shoutout", email us at lukeandselah@gmail.com for details. It's really pretty easy. Get Shrekked, noobs.
Selah teaches her dad some new slang. He doesn't really get it. Selah talks about the Vampire Diaries. Luke is not so sure about the show. They talk about scary movies, homeschooling, and what is or isn't appropriate for thirteen year olds to watch. That's the tea. or the tee. Or maybe just the T? I don't know. Want to have your very own Selah's Shoutout? Email us at Lukeandselah@gmail.com for details!
In this episode, Luke and Selah are joined by friends and tattoo artists Leah and Mackenzie of Charon Arts! We talk about favorite tattoos, what it's like becoming a tattoo artist, and a whole bunch of other great stuff. Also, Luke's brother is here and brings a pet mouse they rescued. It's cute. The episode is cute. We're all cute. If you live in New England and are interested in getting a tattoo, definitely check out Charon Arts! They're great people and do incredible work. Find them here: https://www.charonart.com/ And don't forget - SELAH'S SHOUTOUTS! Selah will say anything you want on the podcast! Send us a facebook message via our facebook page for more details.
Episode 8 - Cringy

Episode 8 - Cringy

2018-09-2425:22

It's been too long, friends. Almost a year to be exact. But pout no more! We're back!  In this episode we talk about what's transpired in the past year, Selah calls everything "cringy" now, and she gives a play-by-play of an Ed Sheeran concert she recently went to. Luke makes more Dad jokes than usual because he's hilarious.  It's good to be back.
This week our cousin-in-law Sesugh drops by and get's gucci with us. We talk about growing up here vs. growing up in Nigeria, and we show Selah what it means to be too legit to quit. Also Selah finds a way to spin most of this episode to talk about how badly she needs a phone and how unfair it is that she doesn't have one. Sponsored by Steady Guglietti Precision Painting. Me and Selah sit down with my friends Tony and John. We talk about which clowns are the scariest, what shows we used to watch and when is the appropriate time to hit walnuts at cars with tennis rackets. John gets pretty excited about a Pete and Pete reboot. And Selah keeps stating her case for why she absolutely needs a phone. Sorry for the huge break we took but our summer got crazy. Selah got herself a new baby brother and we needed a few months to get ourselves together. In this ep: we read some reviews. Selah goes over her first day in the seventh grade. She likes it, but she still ain't got no phone. Selah also learns about bleach. I think.
Sorry this one's a little late, but it's softball season. In this episode we talk a little about credit scores. Selah makes her case for becoming a lawyer. Or an artist. Or something. She doesn't like Neil Young. We once again open up Girls Life Magazine and talk about the perfect date. Towards the end we actually get into a real argument but I don't remember what it's about. Probably a phone.
Episode Three. Woah. We read some reviews. Selah hears about the band Goratory and thinks they're right up her alley. Luke disagrees. Selah doesn't know what a Juggalo is. Also what Faygo is. Selah decides to use code names for her friends. Eighth graders are terrible. We take a quick look at "Girls Life Magazine".
Hey, you're still here! Selah has an iPad in this episode and is rather distracted throughout. She wants to talk about creepy forest and islands filled with dolls. We discuss The Sixth Sense a little. Selah gives future advice to her youngest sister. She tells Luke he's a cool dad. He doesn't say it, but it makes his day.
