First up: book club! We chat about woman in science, a bad history of everything, sex in space, animal sex, and the science of superheroes. Listen in!
We have amazing guest Diana Lucia into the studio to talk about alcohol and how it affects humans at the stage of conception. We also chat animal models, and what being a skeptic actually means. Izzy discusses how to make old damaged nerves do new tricks, we chat about Pint of Science, Nadya jumps into chatting about a new DNA structure and we finish off with Cuban offline internet. Listen in!
Nadya does an amazing job hosting this week while Jacinta is on holiday. We spoke to Cedric van den Berg, a PhD student and marine ecologist researching the coloration of nudibranch. Hilde Mangold was our Snubbed Scientist for the week, and Izzy discusses a new nano-material. (PS. Sorry it's so late this week! Jacinta was hella slack editing and uploading.)
This week we have physicist Dr James Bennett in to talk about light, all it's weird properties, and the coldest thing in the Universe. Nadya discusses a VERY bad autism and aluminium study, and Izzy jumps into dark matter. Jacinta also really quickly talks about cold cold salads. Listen in!
This week we have genetic ecologist Associate Professor Daniel Ortiz-Barrientos into the studio to talk about genes, flowers, work life balance and what a species even is. Nadya talks about Snubbed Scientist Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin and her amazing work in discovering what the stars are made of. Izzy discusses how biofilms can have memory, and we finish off with some 'jazzy' whale noises. Listen in!
It's a weird episode, probably because the team have eaten too much chocolate. Jacinta talks about weird egg shapes, Nadya talks about why eggs look like they do, and Izzy discusses weird places for eggs, such as hydrothermal vents. We also discuss about chocolate, and how it's not as good as you think. Plus we discuss the falling spaceship Tiangong-1.
We have physics professor Tom Stace come in to talk about physics, quantum mechanics, and the late Stephen Hawking. We also talk about NATO and its effects on the Arab Spring, and our Snubbed Scientist - Nettie Stevens. Listen in!
This week we talk to PhD student Tara Roberson about her work on hype in Science, how sci comm can be used for good or evil, and whether she actually owns a time turner. Nadya discusses her snubbed scientist Joceyln Bell Burnell and gift wrapped packages for spiders, and Izzy talks about the Reddit ban, and the science behind whether it worked or not. Listen in!
This week we have physicist Dr Ann Bui in the studio to talk about physics, woman in science, and weird laser tweezers. We also discuss amazing transgender scientist Ben Barres, parking tardigrades, and DNA robots! Listen in!
This week Nadya, Jacinta and Izzy discuss their first Snubbed Scientist, Esther Lederberg, how heavy metals are ending up in vape smoke, how wounded ants can look after each other, and how people can end up with swabs and needles inside them after surgery. Listen in!

We also chat to PhD student Mohamed Ahmed M Alfaleh, about his research, the difference between Saudi Arabia's science programs and here, and how salmonella can help beat cancer.
Nadya is away for the week, so Jacinta and Izzy chat all the newest science news. We discuss adorable walking fish called skatefish and how they have the ability to change the way we think about humans walk. We also talk a lot about drug policy and prison policy - including an interesting study on what prison does to self control.
