The Airborne and Special Operations Museum (ASOM) will host the 12th Annual Field of Honor beginning May 18th.
The annual tradition is a collaboration between the Cool Spring Downtown District and ASOM, and is the third-longest running tribute in the United States. Listen in to a friendly conversation with Cool Spring's Melissa Purvines and Antonio Renteria, a well-known name around the Fayetteville Arts Council and its many endeavors.
Dr. Kenneth Jenkins is Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church in Parkton, NC.
He gives God all the glory for a vision to see his community come together for the good of all. We met to talk about the "Blessing of the Badges" hosted at his church on May 19th, but the conversation was much more encouraging than we could have imagined.
Jesus has purchased a future for us that is better than anything we can plan or imagine.
"The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions." 1 Peter 1:3-5
Think you are in control? Stop breathing. Just do it. It won't be long before your body will insist you draw another breath. And just like we were programmed to take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide, you wired to live for God.
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
We didn't just wake up in faith one day. It was a journey. And it's an ongoing process. Today we take a moment to look back at how we arrived at today.
If you could have only one thing in life, what would it be? What do you love most? What would you give up everything for?
In teaching us how we should pray, Jesus taught us to revere God in this way: "Hallowed be Your name...". (Matthew 6:9b)
In the little moments of daily life, we must live for a greater honor than our own.
Today's conversation centers around the opening phrase in "The Lord's Prayer," found in Matthew 6:9-13 ~ Our Father...in Heaven.
God's care for you is secure because it doesn't depend our your faithfulness, but on His.
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. ~ 1 Thess. 5:23-4
