Simon Wilson is an incredibly interesting guy, with an incredibly interesting story. He was born in Redcar, England, made his way to London when he was sixteen years old, and eventually ended up in Dana Point, California where he currently resides. Simon has worked in professional motorcycle racing, took a job as a tennis pro to make the move to the US, and ended up touring with the PGA as a tour managing rep for a major golf company until about three years ago when he decided he wanted to start making wine. Although he only just started his wine business about four years ago, his first release, which is the Old Acre 2013 Rutherford Bench Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and came out last year, is making waves in the industry scoring points in the 92 to 93 range. Anything over 90 points is a very difficult score for a wine to obtain in general, but to receive those scores for the first wine from a new wine maker is near unheard of. Simon’s story is a great one and is all about a man who has jumped into everything that he is passionate about and has turned it into a career. Carter Kaufman is a truly exceptional human being. Like most of us, Carter got lost somewhere along his road of life, only Carter’s version of lost took him to a much darker place than most of us ever see. For years Carter struggled with a heavy prescription pain pill addiction that almost ended up taking his life, but once he got clean and sober a new path opened up for him that led to a much brighter future. Carter has now been sober for over nine years, he has a beautiful family with his wife and newborn baby, and has become one of the top realtors in Orange County, CA. His story is incredibly uplifting and powerful and shows the heart of the human spirit.
