Becca chats with Kyla Templeton the Arkansas League Director for the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. This a mountain biking cycling league which gives middle school and high school students the opportunity to learn to mountain bike and race. Kyla was instrumental in starting the league in Arkansas; she models leadership and service for youth mountain bikers. In this episode, she shares about her own outdoor passions and the most unique favorite thing Becca has ever heard... a toilet seat for winter!  Becca's family has become very involved in mountain biking since moving to Northwest Arkansas, one of the top cycling destinations in the country. One of the founding members of Art Amiss Inc., Atkinson has been an active participant in the Northwest Arkansas art community for more than a decade. After working in New Orleans, New York and abroad for several years, Atkinson has moved back to Northwest Arkansas and couldn’t be happier about it. She has worked on international arts exhibitions such a Prospect New Orleans, the ground-breaking contemporary art biennial that opened in 2008, collaborated with museums and galleries across Europe and in Asia, and has taught curatorial curriculum at the early college level in Manhattan. She holds BA in Art History from the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College in New York.
Becca chats with Jessie Wagner, the Business Development Director for, Brightwater: a center for the study of food, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Jessie tells her own story of homesteading and working for the National Park Service prior to relocating to Bentonville. She shares about Brightwater,  which is similar to a culinary school, that is teaching people about food. Brightwater is also implementing a food recovery program to help those experiencing food scarcity. It was such a delight to visit with Jessie, we talked about her backyard garden, cooking with her daughter, so listen and enjoy!
Becca chats with you about a fear she discovered relating to being the mother of a child with Asperger's / high functioning autism. This unknown fear from a past experience resurfaced while her 13-year-old son, who is diagnosed with Asperger's, was away at camp.  This is an authentic look into Becca's life as the parent of a high-functioning autistic child. She shares her imperfections, and how she resolved this fear, not allowing it to dominate her life while finding the bright side in this struggle.
