This EP features Strength and Conditioning Coach, and High-Performance Manager with the Canadian Armed Forces, Elliott Richardson.  His background includes experience as an athlete, coach, mentor, educator, presenter, and integrator of disciplines to optimize human performance.  Before he transitioned to working with the military population, he spent almost a decade as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sports Performance Manager with Acadia University. There he oversaw a team of multidisciplinary staff and interns supporting over 300 Varsity athletes across 10 teams.  He also built a private business - Acadia Performance Training - that served three functions: serve the community and provincial athletes, generate revenue to support Varsity staffing positions and provide an opportunity for coaches to develop their skills. While at Acadia, he also taught in the school of kinesiology.  His coaching career began after a three-year career in the Canadian Football League with Edmonton and Saskatchewan. His goal when transitioning to coaching was to provide athletes with the opportunities that he didn't have growing up and provide mentorship to coaches that he wished he had started. In this episode, Alex Dziri and I discuss the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to transform various industries, including coaching.  AI is here to stay and we must recognize what it can do for us, and how we can employ it to support our work, not eliminate it.  We emphasized the need for humans to adapt to the changing landscape and collaborate with AI systems while acknowledging the limitations of AI and the potential for it to impact jobs. Alex introduced a metaphor to help people think about AI more productively, viewing it as a sort of autistic cousin who is smarter than us, and recognizing that AI has all the answers we need but we need to ask it the right way. We also discussed the potential of AI in content creation, emphasizing its role as a collaboration tool rather than a replacement for human writers or artists.  We hope this episode helps you to embrace the use of AI in your work and life, and that it supplies you with some strategies to get started or continue on your journey with Artificial Intelligence. This episode is an interview with Dan Wirth and Jonathan Thompson about the use and practical application of Blood Flow Restriction technology, and specifically the value of the B-Strong system.  Dan is currently the Director of Olympic sports performance at the University of Tennessee. He has been in the world of human performance for 35+ years as both a team and organization strength and conditioning coach, and also as an entrepreneur. Dan left the University of Arizona in 2000 where he had served as Lead S+C for ten years to build his performance facility Sierra Fitness Performance Training in Tucson.  He was introduced to Blood Flow Restriction training with early technologies and experimental applications during his career. Jonathan is using BFR regularly with his basketball players at Lipscomb University where he has been since 2022. In this session, we try to bring the wisdom and experience of Dan with the exuberance and application of Jonathan and another colleague together to paint a picture of the value of this training modality.  I hope you enjoy the ride.If you're listening to this podcast before January 31, 2024, you can use the coupon code BFRstrength to get 20% off the price of a B-Strong kit by going to www.bstrong.training and applying the code.If you liked this EP, please take the time to rate and comment, share with a friend, and connect with us on social channels IG @Kingopain, TW @BuiltbyScott, LI+FB Scott Livingston. This is the third-time return of one of the great thinkers and educators in human performance today, Nick Winkleman.  Nick currently serves as the head of athletic performance & science for the Irish Rugby Football Union.  I recently bumped into him at a Perform Better Summit in Orlando, Florida where he and I were speaking. He was presenting a topic seemingly out of context for the environment entitled "Zen and the Art of Coaching." I was intrigued and spent 75 minutes listening to a man talk about a subject I knew little about, but found myself moved to better understand.Later sitting by the pool, we further got into a deep discussion, and I invited him to come back to the LYM podcast to enlighten our listenership with his insights.  Nick has been through a great deal of change, some unexpected, and some expected in recent years.  His faith has helped him navigate this change, and he felt moved to share what he has learned through this unique presentation, and now in this wonderful conversation.
