This was recorded at the lovely Brudenell Social Club, Leeds on 25th October 2019 - as The Cud Band performed their seminal rock opera When In Rome Kill Me. I own no rights to this song and wouldn't pretend to! They belong the the Mighty Cud Band and you should all go and buy a copy of it. If you already have it, buy another one.
You may not know his name but you'll know his work. A storyteller through and through, Daniel Meadows' images of 70s Manchester are a fantastic record of the lives of the people living in that area. He also dipped his toe into the seminal late 70s Manchester music scene - a wise man and a delight to talk to.
As the saying goes you can take the anarchist out of Burnley, but you'll never take the Burnley out of the anarchist! Boff Whalley, Burnley fan, founder member of Chumbawamba and The Commoners Choir talks about punk, pop, anarchism and Mark E Smith.
Philip Bond is an illustrator and comic book artist, responsible for Deadline's Wired World and most recently Rich & Strange - the story of The Cud Band in Black Crown Publishing's 'Black Crown Quarterly'. He draws how I want to.
Jenny Landreth is a writer, a script editor and a swimmer. She is also very generous with her time and sat down with me to talk about her involvement with one of best shows on television - Hey Duggee - as well as her own writing about trees and swimming! Apologies for the sound quality on this one - but you can still hear Jenny, it's just my ramblings which sound awful!
Polarbear AKA Steven Camden is an author and spoken word artist - but above all he is a storyteller. He is also ridiculously easy to talk to and the passion in what he does shines out from his words.
Scott and Andrew are aspiring film makers, and by aspiring I mean they are currently film makers, just not making the kind of films they aspire to! A talented couple of blokes who talk about the story telling process of how they make the films they do, and the films they will one day make.
On this podcast I talk to Nick Hodges, founder of the Bodie Hodges Foundation - a charity which helps families of bereaved children. It's not an easy listen in places, and you'd have to be heartless not to well up, but out of one of the most harrowing experiences a family could have has come something amazing.
