Texas celebrates the legacy of our fallen Peace Officers. Officers from many jurisdictions, as well as, federal agencies attended the candlelight vigil at the Texas Peace Officer Memorial Monument in Austin, Texas.    The memorial monument is located in the premises of the Texas State Capitol Building. The names of all the fallen Texas peace officers are engraved on granite obelisk on a base with a Texas Lone Star.    The names of the fallen dates back to 1823, when our founder, Stephen F. Austin, commission what is now known as the "Texas Rangers."    The memorial was erected in 1999 with contributions by the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and the Texas State Preservation Board.    The memorial is not only remembering the fallen officers. The monument also reflects the strength and honor of the families of the fallen officers.   Unfortunately, more names are added each year to the walls. We all hope the deaths of law enforcement falls to zero. However, for now, we are going to keep adding those names to the walls. The names help us remember how life could be short and to embrace and defend it every single second.   "Rest In Peace Brothers, We Got It From Here"    Follow me: Website: Coming Soon! What Are Red Flag Gun Laws? "Extreme Risk Protection Order" (ERPO), also known as Red Flag Gun Laws, is a legislative statue which helps law enforcement strip anyone with a mental illness from possessing firearms while undergoing evaluation. The police officer will have to apply for a warrant with a judge. After the judge finds credible and substantial facts the person is a danger to themselves and others, officers might seize the person's firearms for some time.  Is this really a violation of the person's right to due process?  Well, the answer is complicated... Last year, my old sergeant told me I should get an AR-15 Conversion Kit. He gave me good pointers about the pros and cons of making this purchase.  The holidays, vacation, and other expenses delayed me from purchasing the conversion kit. But first, what is a conversion kit.  The Conversion Kit As you know, AR-15 is a very customizable weapon. You can add a scope, red dot, change the trigger to make it more sensitive, add side rails to mount flashlights, lasers, and other tools to the weapon. You can also convert your AR-15 from 5.56/.223 to .22LR by changing the bolt carrier.  The Bolt Carrier The first thing I did was research, research, and more research. I didn't want to pay a high price for the bolt carrier because it would cancel the savings (I'll explain later). So I Google different sites, read reviews and AR-15 online forums. Finally, I found one - the CMMG .22LR Conversion Kit.  The Company CMMG, Inc is an American based company established in 2002 by four partners who had a vision of making affordable AR-15s. The company emphasizes they are committed to serving the public based on Christian Values and Morals. The parts and workmanship are 100% American Made. Their customer service goes beyond promises, and they guarantee their product against defects in material or workmanship for the life of the product!  Final Thoughts Why do you need a conversion kit? My personal belief is: #1. It saves you money on ammo. 1000 rounds box of 5.56 runs between $300-400. If you are going to be shooting often (as you should!), these amounts will add up! #2. Learn the basics, plus extra. Not only accurate shooting, sight alignment, breathing, trigger control, etc. Also, tactical training like shooting around vehicles, barricades or other objects. Moving and shooting, immediate action drills and weapon transitioning.  #3. Training. By saving more money, I can buy more ammo to train on what I feel I need to improve and you could too!  #4. Is fun to shoot... say no more!  I hope this information I provided helps you get more training hours and hopefully save your life one day. My goal is to educate law enforcement officers about other options out there. Always think outside the box.  Sgt. Solis "Don't be an Ass, Be an Asset!"  Follow me: Website: Coming Soon! Today, I'm changing gears to talk about a great product I use daily during my 10-hour shifts, Omega Holsters. I found these products on a police Facebook page, and I decided to try them. The number one reason I purchased the product was the double handgun/AR-15 magazine combo. I was really impressed when I saw it, so I decided to give it a try. Omega Holsters also produces other types of holsters including a tourniquet, OC spray, flashlight holsters, etc. I explained my thoughts on the products as well as the good and bad about them. Give them a try: www.omegaholsters.com Disclaimer: I'm not getting pay to promote the company, I just thought these are a good product for Law Enforcement Officers. My police department just purchased two brand new 2019 Chevy Tahoe with the Police Package. All the new features, the performance, and add-ons make this SUV a great purchase! Many police departments are debating whether they should purchase this big vehicle. However, the most important thing to consider is the customization and space this SUV offers for the patrol officer. I can carry so much equipment with this vehicle. I even have some space to spare compared to my olde SUV, 2009 Chevy Tahoe. I'll show you all the features from bumper to bumper including the after-market equipment which was added for better user experience. Let's begin... Many police officers get confused regarding when we can stop people who run away from us. Some supervisors say if they weren't committing a crime, then don't stop them. However, the U.S. Supreme Court says it's okay to detain innocent people who run away from you for no apparent reason. Check out this episode of Tactical Blue, and I guarantee you'll learn something new plus I made the video a little funny to break the boring info! 😆 Follow me: 🚔👮‍♂️🚔 Website: Coming Soon! News Media is going crazy over President Trump sending military troops to the border with Mexico. However, our job teaches us to prepare for the worst. What's the worst in this case? Yes, over 7000 migrants crossing the border and guess what? They are coming to your town! I know certain sanctuary cities will open their arms and take as many as they can. The government leaders who govern these cities are thinking about votes, not the safety and security of their citizens. When a large group of people migrates, generally, they don't bring all their possessions or the necessary things to survive for an extended period. The challenges for law enforcement would be the lack of resources to help these people. Lack of food, shelter, and water creates conditions which become angry mobs. Think about Katrina or any other natural disaster which affects large portions of the population. It's time for our leaders to open their eyes and stop putting us in harm's way. Yes, we signed up for this job, but we didn't sign up for them to add more unnecessary danger to our lives. Follow me: Website: Coming Soon! Today, we are switching topics and talk about Tactical Operators. Tactical Operations are the standard among the Military, Law Enforcement, and the private industry. However, among the tactical community, the difference between operators can be divided between three types. I talked about the three types of tactical operators as well as the equipment I use as an operator working for a small law enforcement agency. Believe it or not, I purchased the equipment. Not all agencies provide the necessary tools to be an operator. Click Here: http://bit.ly/2S5aLkX to download my list of tactical gear I carry on duty. Follow me: Website: Coming Soon! If you have seen the news lately, it's raining in Texas. Throughout the state, storms and a cold front is increasing the rainfall percentage across the state. The rainfall increase creates a dangerous situation for police officers and citizens in low water crossings. In this video, I explain how low water crossings could be deadly if you didn't receive the proper training. I also show you what equipment to carry in your patrol vehicle for swift water rescue. Explore the case law which justifies the use of deadly force with a vehicle. Recently, Grand Rapids Police Department (MI), used a car to strike a homicide suspect firing at officers in the middle of the road. I know what you are thinking, it the suspect was shooting at officers then it's justified. Well, not so fast, before you use deadly force of any kind, you need to learn the way you can use specific use of force. In this video, I explain each case law which justifies the use of a vehicle as a weapon to stop a threat. Later, I show you the latest police shooting from the Baltimore Police Department (MD). Officers encountered a subject using deadly force against an innocent victim. Officers responded with deadly force and stopped the threat. However, the suspect injured one of the officers with a non-life threating injury. Follow me: Website: Coming Soon! In today's episode, I take you to Pflugerville, Texas where we see the BBQ Benefit for Cambryn's Relentless Battle. Camryn's is a nine-year-old little girl with a rare disease. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. This disease has taken her strength from her. Her body is unable to produce more blood cells to fight everyday attacks. The only way for her to survive and thrive would be a bone marrow transfusion. Her father, Sgt. Kurk Anderson, with the Pflugerville Police Department, asked for assistance. As one big BLUE FAMILY, we couldn't just let this little girl go without notice. We stepped up together to perform a BBQ Benefit for her. This past Saturday, I attended the BBQ Benefit, it was enjoyable to see how law enforcement and the community comes together to help one of our own. The most important message from this video: DONATE Camryn needs to find a bone marrow donor as soon as possible. Please go to -www.bethematch.org Order your Free kit and test

As police officers, we wear many hats on the job. Some are as counselors and therapists, as well as tactical operators. How can we be guardians as police officers? Is it our job to be in the offense to prevent crime? Crime is afoot all the time, crime is mobile, crime is not static. Police officers play offense. Stopping suspicious vehicles, after minor traffic violations is a good example. Police officers are considered productive by their supervisors when they prevent crime. So which one should we choose? Can we be guardians and warriors? Find out more in this Podcast.
