In this (messy) episode, I give you a quick update on where I'm at... and share some encouragement from 1 Samuel and Psalms 139.
Eric Knopf (entrepreneur, author, speaker... and my boss) shares his secret sauce for life and ministry. We talk about Epic Life, a young adult outreach he founded, and how he brought it to where it is now. We also talk about the church's potential and why he's so passionate about doing things right. Finally, we talk about the will of God, a subject Eric is so passionate about that he literally wrote the book on it.
In this episode, I talk about six things that I wish I knew before I started ministry. This podcast is very raw and real, because I openly address things that tripped me up in my early years of ministry. I created this podcast with you in mind, and I hope that it’s helped you get unstuck and feel stronger than before you listened. THE SMALL VICTORIES ARE THE POINT OF MINISTRY. SOME LEADERS ARE REALLY CRAPPY. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MINISTRY EXPECTATION AND A SPIRITUAL CALLING. A SAVIOR COMPLEX IS A REAL THING. REJECT COMMENTS THAT AREN’T FROM GOD. GOD CAN USE ANYTHING.
In part two, Maci and I talk about what inspires our creative projects. Then Maci shares the process she's gone through to grow as a creative curator, to draw the best out of the people she coaches. We talk about brainstorming, outlines, and the importance of always making progress.
Special guest Maci Kauffman joins me to talk about the the (cringy) creative projects we've launched in the past... and what we're up to today.
In this episode, I explain why I suck at social media. Then without missing a beat, I share the best part about sharing on social media - the comments and questions. I read and answer a question sent to me about being an introvert. Then I give some Unsolicited Advice about self-care, something I found distasteful until I learned how to do it right. Finally, I give some tips on how to read the Bible if you’re a beginner or if you just forgot.
In this episode, I thank you for all the positive feedback and encouragement you've sent my way since I started sharing this podcast with the world. I also start a brand new segment to share some Unsolicited Advice (which I have no shortage of) with you. Finally, I have a word for you from a deep dive into Luke, chapter eight.
I candidly share why I've been keeping this podcast quiet, get over it, and share a Bible story... all in one episode.
This episode is about identifying and navigating different ministry relationships - the good (whales), the bad (birds), and the ugly (leeches).
This is part two in our series on being an Introvert in Ministry. We're going to talk about why saying no is hard to do, why I don't have an e-calendar, and how to handle invitations to birthday parties and wedding showers.
Ministry is built around social interaction, which can be really difficult for an introvert. So why do so many introverts do it? In this podcast, I'm going to share what an introvert is and a little about my own experience navigating some of these challenges.
