Basic Cable is back like we left something. Lucas and Carlie review chicken sandwiches and HBO's new Game of Thrones spinoff the House of the Dragon. Thanks for joining us.
Oh wow, you know what they say about riding a bike? Podcasting after an eight month hiatus is not like that. But Lucas and I got back on the mic to talk about some shows that frankly, just didn't do it for us, and shared what's been on our TV minds since April. It's not perfect, but when is Basic Cable ever the pinnacle of fine audio production? Bear with us as we get out podcast legs back. Special thanks to J, for being my expert of the week on all things FA!
Who knew Amy Schumer would have such a delightful cooking show? WE DID. Because her schtick is LITERALLY just Basic Cable in the kitchen. We cover a ton of trash TV that's in no way good for us, and then Carlie's excellent mom returns for a quick segment about the return of Detective Elliot Stabler to a TV near you. Carlie and Katie also talk about the most recent developments to the Varsity Blues scandal -- there's really something for everyone!
Heyyo, welcome to day 3846238 of quarantine! Have you managed to watch every single show on every single platform yet? Of COURSE NOT. There are too many choices so of course you're just falling back on the comfort shows you can visualize with your eyes closed. But fear not, we're here to walk you through of Netflix's newest offerings like Too Hot to Handle, Outer Banks and the delightful Never Have I Ever. We're happy to be back so listen, share and send us an email saying hey! Email basiccablepod@gmail.comInstagram: @basiccablepodTwitter: @basiccablepod
Carlie and Lucas make their triumphant return to the pod after a long, strange trip with our new friend Vladimir Skyrizzi. We chat Jeopardy, The Challenge, Michael Jordan and The Last Dance. Carlie reveals her Grey's Anatomy misery index and friend of the show Matt Ski returns with a Netflix recommendation. We're so glad to be back. Thanks for sticking with us.
Happy Turkey (Boi) Day, Basic Nation! Our main man Matt Ski reviews The Mandolorian. (2:00) Carlie and Lucas' relationship barely survives Thanksgiving Dinner as we break down the pop culture we're most thankful for this year. Spoiler alert: It's mostly pizza and Baby Yoda-related material. Apologies in advance for my (Lucas') awful burp -- it was really unintentional. Happy Holidays! We hope your sharing your time (and this podcast) with all of your friends and family.
