If you're single the one thing you've probably grown tired of is all the lame reasons relationships don't work out. You wish someone would just be honest, up-front, and direct about why they are ending the relationship with you. This week on the Mommy Daddy Time Podcast, we are launching our series on dating. In part 1 of the series Eric & Kristy talk about the 6 dumb things, Christians say to mess up their dating life. That's right, we're tackling the lame, stupid, and dumb break-up lines Christians use on one another. Not only are we exposing them, but we are translating them. We're taking the dumbest things we've heard, had others tell us, and have been communicated to our friends and calling them out. For the first time ever we're doing a series for all our unmarried and single friends. If you are married, that doesn't mean this isn't for you. You probably know someone who is in the dating scene and could use advice like this in their lives. Or, someone may come to you looking for your advice and we promise this will be the best thing you've heard. Or, better yet, you'll have a few laughs as you walk down memory lane of the dumb things you've heard people use when they ended the relationship with you!We promise it's not you, it's us! "If you want to have a great marriage or relationship should be in a community" this is something we've said a lot. And, if you're like a lot of couples you've heard the same thing. In order to make this happen though, you have to find a group of people who actually help you build your relationship. You need people who can help you navigate the tough stuff, set an example for the future, and offer insight into things you wouldn't be able to figure out on your own. The problem is, finding couples who have these qualities along with others in order to create this community can be hard. What happens when you don't know what to look for? How do you even go about finding them if you've just moved? And, what happens if you've tried to find it, but they don't seem to want to get involved with you? That's why we're talking not just about the "why" or "what" behind building a great community. We're talking about the "how". In this week's episode of the Mommy Daddy Time Podcast, Eric & Kristy get into the nitty-gritty of building community. We share our best tips for finding, identifying, filtering and even attracting the right people into your relationship. Plus, we will talk about what kinds of things make a community unhealthy. These are the things to avoid and run from because they can actually hurt your relationship instead of helping it. So, if you're wondering how to build a great community, how to avoid a bad community, and what it takes to attract the right community, this episode is for you! So, sit back, grab those air pods, and enjoy another episode of The Mommy Daddy Time Podcast. Welcome to the Mommy Daddy Time Podcast! In episode 44 of the show, Eric & Kristy come back to talk about what's really been happening for the past 3 months. Life is not always a bowl of peaches. In fact, sometimes life just flat out kicks you in the peaches. When it does, we all respond differently. For the past few months, we've not only had a swift kick to the peach, but we've at times felt like our peaches have been put in a jam! Ok, enough peach references! In this episode we talk about our marriage, the "stuff" we've been going through, how we are coping and processing everything, and what we've learned along the way. If you or someone you know has been going through the stuff and wondering if your relationship or marriage can really get through this season, you're gonna wanna listen to this episode. Episode 44 is plum full (see told you I was done with peach jokes) of rel, honest, vulnerable stuff. Eric & Kristy talk about how launching a business, being entrepreneurs, and also being an enneagram 3+8 couple has impacted their marriage. The truth is, your marriage (or relationship) is not determined by your circumstances. It's determined by the two of you! The struggle with sex is not limited to certain groups, ages, or even past experiences. It's something that ALL couples have to work on and be intentional within their marriage. The worst part is, more often than not, the one place that should be talking about sex (the church) is often silent or vague. So what happens when couples are left without answers to the real questions they have about sex? What happens when couples don't have people they can turn to and openly talk about their sex issues? Well, things don't get better. In fact they often get worse. But, it doesn't have to be this way. The truth is, you don't have to keep struggling alone in your marriage with sex.
