Description

That Projector Life is the podcast for Human Design Projectors who are ready to learn and live their unique design. Hosted by 1/3 Self-Projected Projector Ardelia Lee, this show is all about exploring what it means to be a Projector from a practical standpoint.

You're invited to listen in and dive into the foundations of the Human Design system - along with uniquely Projector topics like waiting for the invitation and recognition. We'll also cover how you can apply what you're learning to your life (practical application is the name of the game).

In this episode of That Projector Life, I'm joined by Splenic Projector Alex Mufson. Alex is a seasoned entrepreneur, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder and CEO of her latest company, Aspen Growth Coaching (AGC). We start off by talking about Splenic Authority, and Alex shares great insights and tangible action steps for Splenic Projectors who are new to their authority. (And if you don't have a Splenic Authority, this is a great way to begin understanding how it operates.) Alex also talked about running her business as a Splenic Projector and the flow that she's found in listening to her energy - including her defined Heart Center. (Did you know that the Heart Center (a.k.a. the Ego Center) is getting a little rebrand? Alex mentions that here - and helps us understand and love on this center a bit more.) This was such a down-to-earth conversation about Human Design, business, and how to work with your design in your own way. In this episode of That Projector Life, we're walking through the 3 stages people move through when they learn about the Human Design system. (And of course, like most things in life, this can be a non-linear journey. And just like Human Design, there are many layers to these stages.) So we'll look at how our understanding of the system changes - and how our approach to it changes as well - from beginning to end. When we start with the system, we'll all about the facts and figures. We want to know all the things and we want to know NOW. There also tends to be a hint of doctrine here - we follow what other people say religiously. But over time, as we become more comfortable with the system and understand our energy better, we tend to move past the "just the facts" approach and step into the second and third stages - both marked by unique challenges and understandings. Ready to find out where you are in these stages? Listen to the episode!   Episode Links Check out the Projector Pivot Challenge and start working with your energy in just 12 days! In this episode, we explore the energy of the Tribe, the Tribal channels, and how they all work together to fulfill the Tribe's purpose: resources and survival. We'll start out by situating the Tribe in the larger picture of humanity as a whole and talk about the Tribe's purpose as it relates to the rest of the world. Then we'll move into each of the Tribal channels and place its energy in the larger story of how the Tribe itself functions. The channels play off of and support each other, and we'll trace the paths of the Ego Circuit and Defense Circuit as we explore the Tribe's energy. Finally, we'll spend some time talking about the highest expression of Tribal energy as well as the lowest expression of Tribal energy, touching on how and where the Tribe grapples with the not-self. The not-self is something definitely worth exploring, as we see a lot of Tribal not-self show up in our world. Ready to dive into the inner workings of the Tribe? Have you ever looked at your channels and thought about what they mean for the energy flow in your chart? We're doing just that in this episode! We'll look at all the different center connections in Human Design (and there are a lot) and talk about how they work and what it means to have one connection over another. For example, we'll talk about the impact of having an Identity to Spleen connection and how that differs slightly from an Identity to Sacral or an Identity to Throat connection. Because each center pairing is different - when we pair center, we bring the themes of those two energies together. The specific channels that you have are your own special blend of those two centers. In this episode, we'll stick more to the general information, but this is a great building block for looking into your channels. We'll look at how the themes of the energy pair between centers and how that impacts you.   Episode Links Check out the Projector Pivot Challenge and start working with your energy in just 12 days! On top of that, I'm so excited to welcome back Kristin Quattlebaum to That Projector Life. Kristin is a 1/3 Emotional Projector, and in this episode, she's sharing how she's learned and grown since we last spoke with her. (I highly recommend checking out Kristin's first TPL interview. It's episode 85.) We talk a lot about emotions and emotional healing as Kristin shares about her approach to working with her emotional authority. She also walks us through the idea of a secondary authority and how that influenced her ability to connect with and work with her emotional authority. This was such a fun episode, and Kristin shares so much insight into the workings of the Solar Plexus and her own experiences with it. If you or someone you know is an emotional authority, I definitely recommend giving this episode a listen and reflecting on the power of emotions. And even if you're like me and don't have an emotional authority, Kristin's approach to emotions is definitely one worth reflecting on - because we do experience emotions.   Kristin's Links TPL085 - https://www.thatprojectorguide.com/tpl085/   Special Session - https://kqunplugged.as.me/tpl   Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/rewildingkq   Website - www.kqunplugged.co     Episode Links Check out the Projector Pivot Challenge and start working with your energy in just 12 days! Have you ever experienced melancholy? You know - that feeling of sadness for no identifiable reason. Or maybe you're there right now and want to know how to move through it. We're talking about all of that and more in this episode of That Projector Life. Melancholy is a natural part of having Individual circuitry in Human Design. And while it can be frustrating to experience, it's an important part of an Individual's role. Individuals are here to push humanity to mutate, and melancholy is a big part of that. (It's similar to the April showers bring May flowers thing.) We'll talk about how to move through melancholy and its potential connection to the shadow of your gates. (And that can offer clues to how to deal with the melancholy.) Listen to the episode and get started reflecting on how melancholy shows up in your life.   Episode Links Become a Patron and get access to exclusive content + early access to TPL episodes! We're kicking off 2024 with an episode all about recognizing yourself. I often get asked how Projectors can encourage others to recognize them (and we talk about this question and its rather difficult answer in this episode). But I rarely (until just recently) get asked how Projectors can recognize themselves.  So we're taking a dive into Projector recognition from the perspective of the self - as in recognizing yourself. Because Projectors can definitely recognize themselves, and I certainly encourage Projectors to do so. (I mean, if you don't recognize yourself, can you really live your design?)  We'll talk about what it mean to recognize yourself, what that looks like, and how you can go about actually recognizing your energy. And keep in mind that this journey is highly personal, and how you feel recognized may differ from how I feel recognized. I do offer two different examples from my own experience recently of how I was able to recognize myself - in both a joyful situation and a more melancholic one.  So listen into the episode and let me know your thoughts. I would love to hear what recognizing yourself looks like for you!   Check out That Projector Life on Patreon! Become a Patron and get access to exclusive content + early access to TPL episodes! That Projector Life is finally back with a new episode! And in this episode, we're diving into where I've been, what I'm doing now, and the refresh that's on the horizon!  Look - things were rough in October. Eclipse season hit hard, and it took two months to recover. In that time, I reflected and journaled a lot, and I also discovered that the way my business was structured didn't work for me...because I don't actually want to be in business in terms of having a coaching structure or packages, etc.  I really just want to create content, and that's where this refresh is coming in. Spoiler alert: I'm shifting to Patreon and focusing on content creation there. And I'll have more details about all of this in the episode. But don't worry! The That Projector Life podcast will still be available to the public.  Ready to hear more about what this refresh will look like? Dive into the episode! We have a super special guest on That Projector Life this week! Human Design Professional and BG5 Business & Career Consultant Leann Wolff is joining us to talk about all thing Human Design. We start off by discussing the Mani-Gen/Projector relationship and how it differs from that of a Generator/Projector one. (Those of you with both Mani-Gens and Generators in your house, take some notes.)  Then we move into talking about money, business, and manifesting as a Projector. And this is a huge topic, but Leann really did an amazing job of offering guidance on where we can look in our chart to determine the best path forward. She also shares her view that Projectors have a special connection with the quantum field due to our aura, something that comes into play when we talk about manifesting.  Leann also talked about Cognition and how we can use that to give us greater depth on whether or not an invitation is correct for us. We dove into my Smell cognition and discussed how I can literally smell invitations, something I'll definitely be leaning into in my own experiment.  If you want to connect more with Leann, check out her links below! We're exploring the creative cycle, what it looks like, and how it shows up throughout the Human Design chart. (Notice that we're using the word "cycle" instead of "process" - that's going to be a big thing in this episode.) The creative cycle is a mysterious, sometimes frustrating thing to deal with. However, we'll explore the mechanics of it with some help from the Gene Keys system.  We'll dive into Gates 1 and 2 (a.k.a. Gene Keys 1 and 2) to talk about how and where they contribute to the creative cycle. Then, we'll look at how the creative cycle itself shows up in our lives - and what to do when we're in the shadow or winter part of it. (The answer here likely isn't going to be what you expect.) Finally, we'll zoom out and look at the Human Design chart to explore how creativity shines through the different centers.  And we'll hammer home the idea that inconsistency is ok - and it's actually how the centers work. (Not even the Sacral center is going to be on all the time. It also needs to rest.) Even if you don't feel like a creative soul, give this episode a listen - because I promise the creative cycle shows up in your life. You just may not be aware of it yet.  Episode Links Become a Patron and get access to exclusive content + early access to TPL episodes! Projectors need recognition. However, if we choose to conceal our true selves, it becomes more challenging for the right people to notice us. That’s why in this episode, we’re talking about the fear of being seen. I share a bit about my personal journey, and I guide you through a step-by-step process to set yourself up for recognition. We cover identifying what you want, what’s stopping you from getting there, releasing your fears, and shifting your energy into alignment. We also dive into the not-self, deconditioning the not-self, and embracing your unique energy. Ready to get deep? Have you been trying - and failing - to connect with your Human Design? Are you sometimes frustrated - or angry - with your design? How about just plain disliking it? In this episode, we'll address all of those feelings and go through some action steps you can take to begin to connect with your design.  It's important to note that not everyone connects with their design instantly. For some people, it can be a struggle to see themselves in their design. And it can feel rather lonely when you're feeling frustrated with your design while watching other people fall in love with theirs. While these action steps may not help you change your perception or feelings toward your chart overnight, they'll hopefully give you a place to start if you're ready to connect with your chart.  Ultimately, the biggest thing to keep in mind is to give yourself time and space to feel and process what you need to. If you feel like you're forcing things by doing this work, then take a step back and return at a later time. It's ok to take space if things aren't feeling correct. In this episode of That Projector Life, we're diving into the idea of a chart "weakness" becuase it's something I hear a lot when talking to people about Human Design. Often, people want to know what their strengths and weaknesses are, and that's understandable. However, we're going to reframe the idea of weakness in this episode.  We'll answer the question of whether or not your chart has a weakness and what you can do about it. (Spoiler alert: I don't think chart weakness exists, and we'll talk about why in this episode.) We'll also talk about how to reframe a perceived weakness and how you can turn it into a strength (or at least begin to be ok with it).  Fair warning: I'm very passionate about this topic, so expect some emphatic speeches in this episode. In this episode, we're talking about a topic that pretty much every Projector I talk to asks me about: Money. Because making money as an aligned Projector is both straightforward and non-linear (rather like being a Projector, right?). It's possible for Projectors to make money as their true selves - but it will likely take some reprogramming.  And that's where this episode comes in. We'll talk about some steps you can take to begin shifting your understanding of money and how you relate to it. We'll look at your mindset and your energy around money and talk about how those impact your Projector journey. We'll also talk about how our Projector strategy and authority come into play when it comes to making money. And yes, we'll also talk about following your bliss because that's really important, too.  I'm under no illusion that this single episode will completely overhaul your relationship with money. That's not what it's here for. This episode is meant to plant some seeds - to help you change your perspective and to begin a new understanding of how your Projector energy is tied to money. Take what I say here with a grain of salt and find what works for you.  Episode Links Note: My links have changed since this episode dropped! (I've just moved platforms). Join me and my guest, Victoria Fragoso, as we talk about all things listening. We haven't talked much about listening on the podcast, and this episode aims to remedy that. Listening is such an important skill to develop. It enables us to really see - and hear - the other person. Being a good listener makes people feel like they matter - and that's an incredible gift to offer.  As Projectors, we're so often convinced that we know what to do and what others need, but it's also important to actually stop and listen to them. Victoria has fantastic suggestions that Projectors can use to help us hone our listening skills. And she shares her insights in actionable ways. Hearing Victoria speak about the importance of listening was so fun. I walked away with a lot to think about - and improve - when it comes to being a better listener.  Ready to brush up on your listening skills? Look, I think being a Projector is awesome. But I also know that sometimes it can suck. And because I believe in looking at both the awesome and the not-so-awesome, we're diving into 7 challenges Projector face. However, we won't just talk about the challenges - we'll also talk about how Projectors can move through those challenges and overcome them.  Because every challenge we come across is a learning opportunity. It gives us a chance to learn more about our energy, the world around us, and how we really want to move through it. And while you will see the top-of-mind challenges like waiting, making money, and burnout, we'll also talk about some other challenges that don't get quite as much attention.  As you listen to the episode, notice where you feel a lot of frustration or resonance with a particular challenge. And then take what I recommend for overcoming that challenge and tweak it to work for you and your energy. It's ok to say that things are difficult or hard - and it's ok to give yourself the space to process them. But after that, it's time to shift and move past that challenge - in alignment with your Projector energy.    Episode Links Note: My links have changed since this episode dropped! In this episode, I'm joined by 6/2 Manifesting Generator Stacy Gissal, and we're talking all about relationships. Looking at - and talking about - relationship charts in Human Design is Stacy's jam. So that's what we're doing!  Stacy gives us a great walk through the Human Design relationship chart and shares the different types of energy dynamics we'll come across and how they can play out in our lives. She also points out that you can't always change how the energy works, so it's important to understand these dynamics. (Also, looking at and understanding your relationship chart can create a lot of "ah-ha" moments for you.)  We also talked about how to support your partner, friend, or child when their design is completely different from yours. And here, Stacy's emotional authority really shone. She offers some great strategies and tips for people without an emotional authority when it comes to living - and working with - an emotional authority. And she rightly points out that it really comes down to respect. Trusting the person you're living with is really important.  This was such a fun and enlightening walk through the Human Design relationship chart. I hope it helps shed some new light on your relationships with others. In this episode, we're talking about work and Projectors. This tends to be a complicated, personal, and nuanced topic. But we'll do our best to cover everything. We'll look at how Projector energy works and how it differs from Generator energy (and why that matters).  We'll also create a space to reflect on our feelings around work and explore how Projectors energy contributes to the world. Oftentimes, it's not that Projectors need to do more or work harder. It's that we need to change our mindset and frame of reference when it comes to work. Projectors may not be here to work in the traditional sense, but we are here to contribute.  What we offer is unique to our design, so spend time with your channels and reflect on what you want to offer the world. You know what you want to do (even if you can't quite mentally describe it). And reflect on how your energy wants to work - or offer itself to the world.    Episode Links Note: My links have changed since this episode dropped! (I've just moved platforms). We're once again revisiting invitations in this episode. But we're not talking about how they work, the energetic mechanics at play, or anything else in that vein. We're actually going to be addressing the more abstract (but equally important) questions around invitations like: What's my understanding of invitations? How did I arrive at that? Is my understanding the correct one? And more!  This episode was actually sparked by an email that I received, and I'm so excited to dive into these questions. We will go into invitations a bit as I outline my philosophy behind them. But we'll spend more time answering how I arrived at my understanding of invitations and whether or not it's the correct one (spoiler alert: I don't know - but it works for me).  So if you had questions along these lines, hopefully this episode will answer at least some of them. And if you have more questions that I didn't answer, let me know.    Episode Links Note: My links have changed since this episode dropped! (I've just moved platforms). In this episode of That Projector Life, I have a fantastic chat with Miran, a 5/1 Self-Projected Projector. And our conversation touches on a little of everything. Miran shares a lot of his experience being a Self-Projected Projector and how he's learned to decondition and step into being himself. He also touches on his experience of being a 5/1 profile.  It was so neat to listen to Miran share how his 5th line show up in his life and how he's handled it. I learned a lot listening to him speak on these experiences. If you have a 5th line profile, or if you know someone who does, what Miran shares will be incredibly helpful.  We also talked about the not-self and how Miran has learned to clarify what is and isn't his. At the end, he walks us through an exercise we can do to help move away from energy that isn't ours and back into our peace and power. I found this episode by searching for something along the lines of "using social media as a Projector." I completely removed myself from social media a few years ago because I needed that time to go inward. I am now playing with the idea of using it as part of my business I am creating. Thank you for this episode 💗

Thank you so much for every single episode. I recently found out I am a Projector a few months ago & this journey has been a mixture of feelings. I have been worried of never being recognized and your episodes help me feel a little more hopeful.
