Jazmin's Goodbye

This is a short clip of the podcast's former host, Jazmin. Hi guys! I've had such great fun hosting the podcast but I've got to graduate and with that comes the passing of the torch. Consider this my goodbye recorded for the books! Thank you so much for listening!
Welcome to  our latest podcast episode where we talk to Professor Evers about his new course on financial literacy. We cover so many topics from financial literacy courses to jobs and opportunities in the financial industry. We promise we're not trying to induct you into the financial industry we just REALLY love what we do! If you're interested to learn more about finances contact our offices or sign up for Professor Evers' course. It was so much fun recording and we hope you enjoy this month's episode!
Due to the winter storm Texas had a few days prior we had to postpone our scheduled podcast episode to the first month in March.  But the show goes on!Join me as I talk with Candi Harris about black students and our experiences. We talk about the number one factor that seems to hold students back from finishing college: finances. We discuss the big picture and nuance behind this road block and how it looms over black students especially.  It was a good conversation from members in the community and we hope you can align with the issues we talk about as well as the first steps to addressing the symptoms of greater systematic roadblocks the black community faces. Literature on the matter date back very far and we definitely encourage you to read more! If you are wanting to just gain more information on how you can stay in school and identify as a black male student then I highly recommend looking into the Marshal legal program spearheaded by Candi Harris! Also don't hesitate to swing by the Student Money Management Center for any financial advice at our new location at Chestnut Hall suite 115. Happy belated Black History Month and I hope that we can normalize celebrating black history year round!
