This week on FC Flash, Akshay Kumar announces that Sooryavanshi will arrive in theaters on Eid 2020\. Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Rohit Shetty’s police universe.  Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya a film, about dakus in an existential crisis, was a critical hit but a commercial failure. It was speculated that one reason might be the Bundelkhandi dialect, which alienated viewers. The film was released with English subtitles but a Hindi dubbed version was also released. The film’s lead Sushant Singh Rajput tweeted that neither he nor the film’s senior cast had dubbed for the Hindi version and that this news was heartbreaking.  Meanwhile, the logo of Brahmastra was released on Mahashivratri at the Kumbh mela. The film is one of Bollywood’s most ambitious attempts to create a homegrown fantasy franchise.  Akshay Kumar wasn’t the only action star in the news this week. The trailers of John Abraham’s Romeo Akbar Walter and Vidyut Jammwal’s Junglee dropped. It was also a good week for Vicky Kaushal who has stepped into Irrfan’s very big shoes and will now be playing freedom fighter Udham Singh in the biopic being directed by Shoojit Sircar.
This week on FC Flash,  Period End of Sentence, a short film about menstrual taboos set in a village in India and executive produced by Guneet Monga won the Oscar in the documentary short subject category. Sara Ali Khan shot her first magazine cover with Filmfare. The actor who is on the cover of the magazine’s March issue shot in Kenya with a few Masai tribesmen and women. However, those pictures have not gone down well with the internet.  Zee Studios, the producers of Sridevi’s last film Mom also announced that they will release the film in China later this month.  Tabu has been chosen to kick off the 17th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles with her film Andhadhun. All India Cine Workers association announced a total ban on Pakistani artists and actors following the Pulwama terror attack.
This week on FC Flash, Akshay Kumar unveils Kesari, which also stars Parineeti Chopra. The historical war film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi of 1857. Ritesh Batra directs Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra in the film. It tells the story of what transpires when two people from totally different worlds collide.  Also, releasing on the same day as Photograoh is Milan Talkies. Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia returns to hinterland with this one and this time he takes actor Ali Fazal along.  The Sky is Pink starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar will release on October 11th.   Investigative website Cobrapost alleged that several celebrities from Bollywood, the music and television industries had consented to promote the political narratives of some parties on their social media for money in return. The Indian Film And Television Directors Association released a statement confirming Navjot Singh Sidhu's removal from the Kapil Sharma show. They have also terminated of all his services with Sony Entertainment channel.

This week on FC Flash, the battle over directing credit between director Krish and director-actor Kangana Ranaut intensifies.  Priyanka Chopra made an exciting announcement on the Ellen show this week – her and Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson are developing a feature film adaptation of the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country. Swara Bhasker announced the launch of her production house Kahaniwaley. The first project will be based on the true story of Krishna Sen, also known as Sweety Sen, a woman who pretended to be a man and married at least two women.  Sanya Malhotra was selected by the prestigious trade journal The Hollywood Reporter as one of the 5 talents to watch at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival.   Producer Ekta Kapoor announced the birth of her first child – a boy named Ravie who was born via surrogacy.
It's been an action-packed week in entertainment news with Salman Khan dropping the teaser of his much-anticipated film 'Bharat', Kangana Ranaut threatening to destroy the Karni Sena, Prime Minister Modi exclaiming "How's The Josh?" and Guneet Monga's documentary 'Period. The biggest news this week was that one of India’s leading director’s Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual harassment.  Priya Prakash Varrier, whom you might recognize as the wink girl, is making her Hindi film debut with a suspense thriller called Sridevi Bungalow. Taapsee Pannu took to the media to express her displeasure at being unceremoniously dropped from the remake of the 1978 Sanjeev Kumar hit Pati Patni aur Woh.  Uri is a hit. The film notched up impressive numbers at the box office but the makers also found a clever way of dissuading would be pirates. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar – the duo that gave us Bhaag Milkha Bhaag – are back together for Toofan, which Farhan described as the ‘heartfelt journey of a boxer.’  The teaser for Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly’s film Moothon dropped this week. The film has been written and directed by Geetu Mohandas while Anurag Kashyap has penned the Hindi dialogue. I can’t wait to see this.

This week on FC Flash  Two luminaries of Indian cinema – actor-writer Kader Khan and director Mrinal Sen, pass away.  Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy releases three first look posters and a trailer announcement. The film, inspired by the lives of Mumbai rappers Naezy and Divine, stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.  The trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister disappeared for a few hours from Youtube. The film, based on former prime minister Manmohan Singh, has generated controversies since the trailer dropped.  Simmba becomes Rohit Shetty’s eighth film to gross more than 100 crore.

This week on FC Flash, Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh got married in a private ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.   On November 15th, a story on The Print website reported that platforms such as Netflix and Hotstar had agreed to censor their content in India. Netflix however posted a statement saying that they were not present at any such meeting. The Producers Guild of India unanimously passed a resolution to amend its by-laws. It is now mandatory for all members to implement the POSH laws, which includes the constitution of an ICC or Internal Complaints Committee. Brahmastra, the superhero trilogy being produced by Karan Johar and directed by Ayan Mukerji, has got a new release date – December 2019.  The teaser of Cheat India and the trailer of Kedarnath also dropped this week. Cheat India features Emraan Hashmi as an entrepreneur building an empire out of cheating. Kedarnath is a Hindu-Muslim love story set against floods in the pilgrim destination.
The top stories on FC Flash The Bombay High Court adjourns Vikas Bahl’s defamation case against Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena to the 21st of November. OTT giant Netflix conducts an independent investigation post which they give a clear chit to Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Varun Grover for Sacred Games 2. Kizie Aur Manny actress Sanjana Sanghi dismisses allegations of sexual harassment by her co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. Balekempa producers Zoo Entertainment withdraw the film from MAMI after an aspiring screenwriter accuses director Ere Gowda of sexual harassment. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announce that they would be tying the knot on the 14th & 15th of November. Action clearly seems to be the name of the game. We get to see trailers & teasers of Mirzapur, Simbaa & Sahoo.
This week on FC Flash,  Ashish Patil, vice president of brand partnerships and talent management at Yash Raj Studios and Anirban Blah, co-founder and talent manager at Kwan Entertainment were asked to step down owing to sexual harassment charges.  Fox Studios suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra on Kizzie aur Manny starring Sushant Singh Rajput. There are allegations that Rajput made his co-star Sanjana Sanghi uncomfortable on the sets of the film. The Producers Guild of India called for an extraordinary general meeting to amend its bylaws, making it compulsory for all members to implement the POSH law in their respective companies.   CINTAA held a press conference to announce that the association has formed two committees to address sexual harassment cases  The teaser of Junglee dropped – the film features a ripped Vidyut Jammwal and many elephants.  Karan Johar celebrated 20 years of his 90s blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai by organising a glamorous event where most of the key cast and crew gathered to reminisce about making his first film.

Richa Chadha unveiled the logo of her next film, a biopic on actress Shakeela. The marketing gimmick around the film Pihu backfires and irks audiences Priyanka Chopra’s friends host a lavish bridal shower for her. Deepika Padukone kicked off her wedding festivities in Bangalore. Anupam Kher resigns as the chairman of the Film and Television institute of India citing a busy schedule.
