Can you imagine the inability to speak or hear over the course of nine months?  Though we often find ourselves waiting on the promises of God, He is faithful.  In this episode, we look at Zechariah and the praise that erupts when we recognize God's faithfulness.
Who is Mary?  There are several answers to this question that depend on the context of your environment.  However, Mary, mother of Jesus, knew who she was in God's eyes.  The truth of God at work in Mary's life erupted in praise.  In this episode, we look at Mary's song and the truth it holds for us.
The aspects of Abraham's failure are recorded in Genesis, but righteousness was still counted to him through faith.  In Chapter 21, Abraham's obedience and disobedience collide.  As he faces this great distress, God speaks to him and asks for Abraham's trust.  The God that was faithful to fulfill a 25-year-old promise was going to take care of Ishmael.
The downward spiral of sin in Lot's life did not occur overnight.  As he left with Abram on an 800-mile trek to the land of Caanan, the depravity in which he found himself at the end of chapter 19 was unthinkable.  What happened?  In this episode, we look at what the Genesis account teaches us about sin.
In chapter 16, Hagar learned that God saw her - her needs, her struggles, and her desires.  There is nothing that escapes God's vision and nothing that is beyond his knowledge.  In this episode, we learn that God also sees our sin; He knows our hearts.
Genesis 17 was more than a physical requirement.  There was a spiritual aspect of circumcision that validated it only by means of faith.  One could be circumcised physically, and still, be uncircumcised in heart.  Only through Christ, can our hearts truly be circumcised.
In the middle of a physical and spiritual wilderness, God met with Hagar.  The lesson she learned about God would give her steadfastness as she served Sarai.  When we take matters into our own hands, we not only open the door for future sin but also affect the lives of those around us.
Abram's faith was credited to him as righteousness.  In the making of the covenant, it was God that swore by himself which moved the promise of chapter 12 into the covenant of chapter 15.
Abraham (still called Abram) went to war and experienced victory.  Who does he credit for his success and what does he do with his possessions?  In this message, we look at God's faithfulness to us and our proper response.  Generosity is an outflow of gratitude.
God is gracious to us in recording the failures of some of the Old Testament saints.  This record is not for the condemnation of saints, but for the edification of God's people.  In this episode, we look at a failure of Abram.  His lack of trust not only sends turmoil at the moment, but it also lays the groundwork for future sin.
What happened at the Tower of Babel, and why is it located in the middle of a genealogical record?  In this episode, we look at lessons learned about God and humanity.  When we take our eyes off of God, instability rules our hearts, and our reliance on self only furthers deceit.  It is an act of grace and mercy that God puts an end to our sinful foolishness.
Noah's entrance into the ark was only half of the story.  God remembered him, but did that mean that God forgot him?  In this lesson, we learn that God is in control and nothing escapes him.
The account of Noah and the ark is familiar to many.  However, familiarity with an event can cause us to misunderstand the events that took place. We begin to be familiar with the "story" and not the text.  What was happening in the days of Noah?  In this episode, we take a look at the account of judgment recorded in Genesis 6.
As humanity increased, so did the evil of their heart.  As the account of the beginning continues, God is revealed as patient and abounding in steadfast love.  However, his holiness demands justice for the increase of evil.
Adam and Eve were not the only ones effected by the fall.  The eternal prodding of the serpent not took root in the hearts and minds of mankind.  As they anticipated the offspring that would crush the serpent's head, evil displayed itself in the heart of Cain and all the descendants of Adam.
Everything changes in Chapter 3 of Genesis.  In the midst of God's goodness, evil entices and penetrates the heart of humanity.  Accomplished through the rejection of God's authority, humanity now knows evil and has no power to resist.  How did this happen?  This episode addresses that question.
We were not designed to live in isolation.  Created in the image of God, humanity is to operate in community with one another.  The foundational unit of society is marriage.  Both community and marriage must be exercised within God's design to experience God's blessing.
After God takes centerstage in creation, the reader in introduced to the "image bearer."  Mankind is created in the image of God.  It is not by mistake or out of need.  Humanity was specifically created and we can trust that a good God has good reason.

Beginnings matter; introductions matter.  Genesis is the book of beginning and contained in the first chapter is the focus of the entire Bible - God.  In this episode, we begin a new series from the book of Genesis.
There is a spiritual overflow to a life of devotion.  The fledgling church in Acts learned that God blessed the faithfulness of his people by drawing others to himself.  Mission work in the life of a healthy church is not a choice; it naturally occurs.
