Description
In 1983, Paladin Press, a fringe publisher, released a book called Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors. The author, who went by the pen name Rex Feral, offered very specific tips for the aspiring contract killer— where to find employment, how much to charge...and how to get away with murder. Ten years later, Tiffani Horn’s mother, 8-year-old brother, and a close family friend were found murdered. The exhaustive investigation involved multi-state surveillance and wiretaps, but it wasn’t until detectives stumbled upon Hit Man that they suddenly had what they called a blueprint for the murders. Hosted by journalist Jasmyn Morris.

Show Description: With a smile and optimism that epitomizes South Florida in the 1980s, Billy Halpern is the last person anyone expects to find brutally murdered. Six months after his body is found, throat slit ear-to-ear in a professional execution-style hit, the investigation goes cold. When his best friend and girlfriend turn up dead, investigators realize Billy might have been caught up in a larger scheme involving the city's most dangerous criminals, local wise guy and mob associate Bert Christie and decorated ex-cop Gil Fernandez.
Despite circumstantial evidence tying a growing list of crimes back to Christie and Fernandez, the murders go unsolved for years. Decades later, investigative journalist and former cop Scott Weinberger and Detective Danny Smith agree to work together to solve this murder mystery. Ultimately, this yearlong investigation will expose the true motive behind this killing spree and uncover new evidence including the DNA of the killer. Very good ending to a podcast.
does she talk fast or do i have to slow my podcast down? lol
This podcast has been incredibly informative, but the last couple of episodes makes me wonder if the production team has thought about the possibility that the girlfriend/fiance of "Rex" was not just physically abused, but also suffered severe emotional abuse while she was with him.
yawn super boring
This series ended better than it started. Glad I stuck with it.
love Disgraceland.
it's like Star magazine finally got a podcast. "... then finally, finally she told me I had a podcast"
Had to turn it off
You say Rex is a woman then use a male voice?
Let’s ban all movies with shooting in
Nearly falling asleep
she seems to be talking too fast in this one. like it's been sped up.
Dislike. Is it finished or on haiatus? Unsubscribed as it's not exactly rivetting/worth waiting for.
I feel so badly for the family members left behind, and the poor nurse who was just collateral damage. I hope Millie's daughters know what a fierce mother she was. It sounds like she was one in a million.
the female presenter drones on, need someone with a more flowing speaking voice
Don’t really know when to expect the episodes. Inconsistent.
This episode was boring
