There is something to be said about the drive needed to do something new. We’ve talked about single-minded purpose or laser-like focus before but let’s be clear that’s not narrow sighted selfishness. We cannot mistake the need to be driven for the desire to be narcissistic.

In life, set-backs are inevitable but the difference between a minor slow down and a permanent stop is all in how you see it.

Too many leaders are busy trying to surround themselves with the leaders they think will make them matter at the expense of those they lead... the people to whom you actually matter.

This episode is really about personal growth. It can easily be ascribed to spirituality, business, or entrepreneurism. The whole idea we want to tackle today is that we need to be faithful not famous

If you’re ever going to step out and do something great, you’ll need to not only be good at the task at hand, but also have some skills leading people. And look, people can fickle, unreliable, self-serving and sometimes downright unpleasant. Learning to deal with the perils of leadership is not something you can master quickly, it’s more aptly developed on the job and there really is no way to know if you’ve got it all mastered.

The worse it feels the better you get. God is always working to refine us and that means he’s burning and pruning things that we no longer need and removing parts that don’t please him. It hurts and that’s good. Here’s how pain helps.

There’s this current self-help notion among people interested in purpose it’s ok to cut people off. The toxic people, the disrespectful people, the disagreeable people. That notion is wrong. STOP CUTTING PEOPLE OFF

Any time you endeavor to do something great, you’ll find the distractions increase exponentially. If you really want to win, you have to keep the main thing, the main thing.

There’s an old-school axiom passed down from generations meant to inspire young people to lead and work with strength and dignity but it’s a big fat lie. Never let them see you sweat is the dumbest thing we’ve ever told ourselves and today we’re going to change that! Unless you are being authentic, open, and honest with yourself and those around you, you will never reach your full potential.

Timing is everything: there is a difference between doing things right now and doing things right. For the dreamers out there, it can be very difficult to slow our pace and get things in order but preparation can mean the difference between a fleeting fire and a long burn. By utilizing a timing strategy, you can maximize your potential to ensure a long and successful outcome.
