When Jesus bears humanity's sin, The Father, forsakes Him. Why, because God cannot be in the presence of sinners. But in the midst of this injustice, our salvation is accomplished. We continue to trust in the promises of God, knowing that as Jesus was forsaken we are now invited to be in heaven. We know how it is going to end.

Now because Christ Jesus de-friends us from Satan and makes us His own through Holy Baptism we are children of God. However, the desire to return to the previous bad relationship is still there. Jesus first words from the cross states the purpose why He is there, to bring forgiveness. But do we want that forgiveness? Jesus said for they know not what they do. God wants a special table fellowship with Him. In order to make that happen Christ Jesus first needs to remove our sins so that we can be in the presence of God.
God first chooses us. In Deuteronomy Moses reminds the people that they need to continue to keep the commandments of God, or else.
God wants you to believe and trust in His promises, not by trying to self justify by putting others down. Jesus is the one who justifies us, just believe and trust in Him. If you are looking for something to do, then build up other people, forgive them as Christ Jesus forgave you.
