Dr. SS Banya is a Sierra Leonean statesman who has worn many hats. From being foreign minister, founder of the Sierra Leone Conservation Society, to his witty newspaper columns, he has been a part of the Sierra Leone political landscape from his student days in the mid 1950's, through independence and all the various regimes that have followed Sierra Leone's independence. He is a great story teller and this will be a great forum for him to share his many stories, set against the backdrop of Sierra Leone before her Independence, through the brutal civil war and reconciliation.

On the eve of his 89th birthday, Puawui reflects. What would he do differently? How has he coped with personal loss?
In this episode, Puawui talks about his education going from Bo School (where he skipped a grade) where he was a Senior Prefect, to attending Prince of Wales.
In this episode, Puawui talks more about his complex relationship with "Papa Sheki" about spending time in Mafanta prison during a state of emergency and eventually being relentlessly courted by Siaka Stevens. In addition, he talks about why he and all his brothers shared the name "Sama" and how he got his nickname/mom de plume "Puawui"

From getting arrested and thrown in prison on Sheki's beahalf, to serving in his government later on, he briefly discusses a few anecdotes that are a can't miss.
