On the latest episode of the All Just Noise Podcast, James and Neil take a look at the ones that got away; the bands they thought would be huge but fizzled off into indie obscurity. There's also a run-down of the latest Spotify playlist craze doing the rounds and as always and four new tunes go under the microscope in the animal-themed reviews segment, the Neily Wild Show. As always, all the music covered in this episode can be found on our Episode 15 playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1syhkUSODvWcrwAIjx5Ozu?si=Nzyqnp5rSsupOUuQhrrkww
As 2021 rumbles on, it seems more important than ever to look forward to returning to those brilliant music venues we used to frequent. Neil and James reminisce about lost venues, unusual venues and some of those who already lost to the ages. There's also a run down of the Shrimp Awards winners and the customary visit to the new release safari that is The Neil-y Wild Show. To ensure your favourite grassroots venue survives, consider donating to the Music Venue Trust's Save Our Venues campaign.  To listen to the tracks and artists discussed in this month's episode, check out our playlist on Spotify.
Christmas is around the corner so Neil and James prepare with this year's festive offering. In this episode, they take a trip to Somerset for Virtual Glastonbury, look at the best of the End of Year polls for 2020, preview four new tracks from the likes of Oscar Lang and Circa Waves and, as custom dictates, they unveil yet another Neil-based pun for their Christmas quiz.  Santa Claus in coming to town (unless you're in Tier 4) so strap in with some mulled wine, get those presents wrapped and have a listen! As always, every artist featured in today's podcast will be on our Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2l6n0djreYR8jDaAt7QO3O?si=0PTokjw0SmiD_K6kn3wQGw
Breaking free from the shackles of Lockdown, James and Neil return with a look back at the terrible nightmare that is 2020. There's also a preview of the Great Escape 2021 and yet another whistle stop tour round some of this month's new releases. It's good to be back!  Check out our Spotify playlist for all the songs mentioned in the episode: https://open.spotify.com/user/scroogeyscrooge/playlist/5aUcRFi9iyWEBPVAIcdaV0?si=nTJuEK9vSjq27eyZlljUcQ
Another episode from the “archives”. This time, James and Neil have exhumed a previously unheard version of the show dating back to the summer of 1997 and possibly the end of the road for Britpop. Hot off the heels of Geneva’s first headline tour in nearly 20 years, James and Neil look back at some of the great (and not so great) reunion gigs they’ve witnessed. There’s also recap of some of the festival lineup announcements and four more new tracks take the Neil-y Wild Show challenge. All the tracks featured in this episode on our Spotify playlist. It’s time to look forward to what 2020 has to offer as James and Neil offer up their view on what the new year might hold. There’s also a round up of the prestigious Shrimp Music Awards and a run through the latest new releases. All this plus some worrying signs of Early-onset. Like what you heard? Glastonbury is in the books, the Mercury Prize nominations are a bit of a let down but don't feel too miserable; James and Neil have a trick up their sleeve...Its time for Neil's House Party! If that's not enough, there's an exclusive preview of Nobodies Birthday's as yet unreleased new track.
This week, James and Neil talk about All Points East and the mystery of the Strokes live set up, Liam Gallagher's new film and preview the world's best festival, Glastonbury.
3 days, more than 30 bands and a lot of booze. In this week's episode, Neil and James take you through an incredible weekend of new music in Brighton.
In the first episode, James and Neil preview this year's Great Escape festival in Brighton and look back (mostly) fondly on Great Escape's gone of the past.
