Are you interested in news, culture and the ideas our society is wrestling with? Are you sick of the incessant outrage? The ridiculous demonization of everyone whose thoughts don't line up in this outdated left right paradigm? Good. So are we. It's hard to make sense of the world right now. But, the revolution that's underway does not need to be violent. We want to engage with you in a real way. All we ask is that you... Live Learn Repeat.

2020 what a friggin year. You can't make this stuff up and you definitely can't unsee it. To make sense of it you have to swallow the red pill and see it for exactly what it is. An angry optimist, I look back on the year from hell and try to size it up, make sense of it, and take away something positive. It wasn't easy. But the truth is we learn more from our mistakes than our successes. And 2020 was jam packed with missteps. 2021 has to be better... Right ;) Happy New Year
12 Conventional Wisdom

12 Conventional Wisdom

If 2020 has shown us anything… it’s that everything you’ve taken for granted, can disappear in a split second. In the final episode before this years presidential election we take a look at how the prevailing wisdom and the institutions have broken down to a point where you just can’t unsee any of it. The pandemic, the president and a narrative that seems to get crazier every second, it's all up in the air. And how we land on the other side of this election… nobody knows. But that’s not gonna stop me from predicting an outcome that flies in the face of conventional wisdom. What can we possibly learn about the problems facing US Institutions from the Jeffrey Epstein/Ghislain Maxwell train wreck? Everything. This deep dive into the hunt for Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged accomplice is a wild ride filled with all the sordid details. But rather than focus on the myriad of potential villains in this tale, I try to point out something in plain sight. The connection between this horrific case and the failure of American Institutions. It starts with a great piece of journalism I came across in Vanity Fair (Written by Mark Seal) and hopefully ends with a new lens to view the problems facing the nation Vanity Fair Article by Mark Seal https://bit.ly/2ENY5Nb Live Learn Repeat Instagram: shorturl.at/xyQ15 LLR Twitter: shorturl.at/abdrI Podcast Site: shorturl.at/apY05

The protests, the virus, the lockdown, racism, the cops and a host of other factors that elude our control have all culminated in rage. But what if underneath all this anger something else is lurking… something more vulnerable. The podcast has become my only outlet to think and engage in ideas that don’t follow simplistic and divisive liberal or conservative positions. Nuance, defiance and a ten minute deep dive… On Being Angry. Live Learn Repeat Instagram: shorturl.at/xyQ15 LLR Twitter: shorturl.at/abdrI Podcast Site: shorturl.at/apY05

Is Chaos Good? Covid 19. One last win for the establishment and a solution to all of the Democratic Party's problems in three words. President Jocko Willink. A microbe has cancelled society. And shown us in no uncertain terms, the only thing scarier than mother nature… is how human’s react to it. The upside of chaos and the downside of a Joe Biden nomination. This one has it all. Every crisis, an opportunity to change tactics. Recalibrate. Focus. The only difference between chaos and order is the rule of law and a shared sense of values, right and wrong. Collaboration and human connection is the only way we get through this. And the answer is social distancing. Leadership matters. And I’m sure we can do better than Donald Trump and Joe Biden. But sh*t just got real. Do NOT miss this episode. Party Over

Party Over

Super Tuesday is upon us. And in this episode of Live Learn Repeat we take a look at the inner workings of the Primary Electoral system. Focusing mostly on Democrats we take a look back at the 1968 primary run, a historic and deeply contested election that helped shape the current system. Then I assess who's left in the current fiel and generally paint the picture that for both major political factions... The Party is over. Whether you claim to be the party of small government or the Party of the People. The gig is up. Superdelegates, bad media players and enough hilarious hypocrisy to keep you from hating the entire system. This episode has it all. Go out and vote. But not until after you tune in. While the rest of the media world seems hell bent to focus and highlight issues related to the transgender community, I've been digging into a "Trans" of a completely different kind. Transhumanism. A topic that my guest Zoltan Istvan has been thinking, writing and speaking about more than anyone on the planet. The extension and betterment of human existence through science and technology. Everything from synthetic organs, implanted microchips, and driverless cars. All the way to the possibility of uploading and downloading consciousness to new and improved physical forms. But somewhere in the quest are real questions about humanity. Intriguing and Exciting for sure, but not without its scary bits. Join me for a fascinating conversation and deep dive into the human condition and what the future might hold for our species. History is told by the victors. And even though we've been warned that those who fail to learn the lessons of history, are doomed to repeat it, our political leaders charge ahead with certainty. This time things will be different. I've been thinking a lot about history recently. Trying to figure out who I am, where we are as a nation, and where we are going. It's not a simple calculus, but it's an incredibly interesting time to do research and delve deep into these stories. In this episode I briefly outline some of the things I've been reading and then discuss three of my favorite historians. The great Dan Carlin. Thadeus Russell. And my guest Daniele Bolelli. His History on Fire Podcast is one of the best in business and he was the first person to agree to sit down with me. It's a great conversation about the Past, the Present and where we might be headed. Think Like a Champion

Think Like a Champion

When I met AnnMaria in 2003 she was two decades removed from her life as a world champion Judoka. She was an entrepreneur, with a masters degree and she was also a widow, raising four daughters. One of her girls was on the way to the Olympics to compete in the sport she helped pioneer. Judo. I could tell that both of these women had a force in them, that was unstoppable. But when things went south at the games in Athens, I thought "This is not going to end well" Why? Because I'm an idiot. Join me for a conversation about everything from parenting, to education to transgender athletes. It's a great talk with a mother, an educator and a take-no-prisoners human with the mindset of a champion. The political divide and bitter discourse in today's political game is as strong as ever. But the truth is... America works best when we find some common ground. This weeks podcast is a brutal but hopeful look at the political crossroads that our nation stands in. It's also a deep conversation with former Congressional Candidate, writer and Better Angels Media Director, John Wood Jr. A man who is on the ground bringing people from both sides of the aisle together. Pushing ideas. Finding solutions. And working hard to create that "more perfect union" that America strives to be. At some point, cancer touches all of us. If you want to feel sad, angry and hopeful all at the same time... This is the episode to listen to. I'll start off with a personal story about my family's brush with cancer and then then sit down with Bryan Bishop, from the world famous Adam Carolla Show. Six months ago when I envisioned this podcast I invited Bryan Bishop for a beer. He asked for the elevator pitch... immediately bought the concept and graciously agreed to sit down and talk to me about his ordeal. We talk a little history, his journey and role in one of the most successful podcasts in history and what the future of this new medium holds. You don't want to miss this episode. Live Learn Repeat
Education is everything. And like most things today, it's changing at the speed of light. It's also something that's progressing and regressing at the exact same moment. What does the future look like? I make some bold predications that may or may not be prescient. But one thing we can all agree on if you're interested in learning... there's never been a better time to be alive. Hunter Maats is the author of the Straight A Conspiracy, a podcasting pioneer and someone who's forced to reconsider my worldview. He's also the very first guest on my podcast. Join us as we sit down and talk about education and the new landscape for people who are simply looking to learn. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=the+straight+a+conspiracy&crid=32CEZCFLSBLLI&sprefix=the+straight+a+%2Caps%2C185&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15 www.livelearnrepeat.org
The only things that I've ever been any good at. And the blueprint for what we are going to do on this podcast. My first episode should set the table and pay homage to the podcast pioneers who've inspired me. The struggle is real. May the best idea win.
