Radiating the Quiet Presence Winter Solstice Yoga Nidra 2023   This recording was captured live at Blue Hot Yoga in Swampscott, MA, USA, in December 2023, following a beautiful Wednesday Hatha Yoga class.   As the days grow shorter and the nights lengthen, it is essential to remind ourselves to pause and embrace the quiet presence of the winter solstice. This season offers us a precious opportunity for reflection, rejuvenation, restoration, peace, and harmony. Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, we can tap into our inner and outer connection to light, elevating our alignment and basking in the radiance of our own beautiful inner light – the Inner Radiant Presence.   Take this time to honor yourself by finding a serene space and immersing yourself in this seasonal winter Yoga Nidra practice. Consider using headphones and wrapping a special natural feature, like a cozy shawl, around you for added comfort. Allow yourself to deeply rest and relax as you listen.   With much love, Shubha Melissa Abbott
Pulsation of Consciousness Yoga Nidra  This 15-minute Yoga Nidra meditation draws inspiration from the profound teachings of the Spanda Karikas, specifically verses 30-34, penned by the sage Vasugupta in 800 CE. The term "Spanda" in Sanskrit refers to the Divine Creative Pulsation of Consciousness, while "Karikas" denotes a collection of verses. These timeless verses, originating over a millennium ago, encapsulate the wisdom of Shaiva Tantra Meditation, offering invaluable insights for our modern lives. In the container of this Yoga Nidra practice, we are guided into a state of deep relaxation, where we effortlessly tap into our own inner pulsating creative awareness. As we surrender to the practice, we connect with the essence of Spanda, experiencing the profound interplay between our consciousness and the divine creative energy that permeates all of existence. This meditation invites us to explore the depths of embodied consciousness, allowing us to access a state of profound relaxation and inner stillness. By aligning ourselves with the pulsation of consciousness, we open ourselves to the infinite possibilities and creative potential that reside within us. Recorded live at Blue Hot Yoga by Melissa Abbott Yoga & Meditation Instructor - Sept 2023 Fall Equinox Yoga Nidra  The spring/fall equinox occurs when the position of the Sun is exactly over the Equator, marking the beginning of the spring/autumn season. During this time, the hours of daylight and darkness are nearly equal all around the world. It is a moment of balance and harmony, symbolizing the transition from the warmth and abundance of summer to the introspection and letting go of the approaching winter. The fall equinox invites us to reflect on the changes happening within and around us, to release what no longer serves us, and to find balance in our lives. It is a time to embrace gratitude for the blessings in our lives and to set intentions for the season ahead. Yogically, we want to address our processes as we transition from season to season, bringing balance and harmony into our lives finding that source and point of equanimity within ourselves. Season changes including the increase/decrease in the amount of light are a signal to animals, plants, and people, of changing seasons. We can use a Yoga Nidra to harmonize ourselves with the seasonal changes.   Melissa Abbott is the Author of “ Yoga Nidra Illuminated Art of Crafting Yoga Nidra Meditation for Yoga Teachers and Students” Yoga Nidra Illuminated Art of Crafting Yoga Nidra: A Guide for Yoga Teachers and Students https://a.co/d/6KRn1KT and  ” Tara Illuminated The Mandala of the 21 Tara’s” Tara Illuminated The Mandala of the 21 Taras: Includes 22 meditations, mantras, praises, teachings, syllables, and practice sequences that empower and uplift your life with the Female Buddha Tara https://a.co/d/aYwh9A4   For Links to Melissa Yoga Classes, Goddess Circles and Yoga Nidra Events https://linktr.ee/melissaabbott

Black Tara Who Destroys All Negativities Sadhana In this podcast, I am continuing  my exploration of each of the Tibetan Vrajayana Buddhist practice of the Twenty-One Taras. Each of the Taras in the Mandala, provide ways to uplift ourselves and empower our journey in life. The practices are layers of teachings. The mantras are vibrational  tools for transformation. There is great liberating and healing power to meditate on all the aspects of this beloved female Buddha. This particular Tara,  the Tara Who Destroys All Negativities, is the 7th emanation of the 21 Taras. She provides you with the understanding of the malicious motives of both your inner complexes and those of others. This has the ability to allow you to guard yourself from taking in or creating negative energy. She helps you to overcome obstructed circumstances in your life and potential threats. These threats ( both inner and outer) are considered a type of demon in this tradition and are known as Maras. If you are honest with yourself, about your inner demons or Maras, the practice of this Tara sets up a beautiful vibrational dynamic to smash or cut through them. When you perform this sequence for yourself and others, you set up a powerful and vibrational reorientation of your being which is not only extremely protective from outside influences but also safeguards you from your own mental patterning. In this podcast, I discuss, teach and practice the sequence aiming to give you insight into the layers of this practice and how something so ancient as this can be just as vital in modern life. If you are interested in studying more about the Twenty-One Taras email me: melissaabbott109@gmail.com for upcoming schedule of in person and zoom groups. Kind regards, Shubha Melissa Abbott

16 Jnana Siddha Yoginis Yoga Nidra In this Feminine Empowered Yoga Nidra we invite the 16 Jnana Siddha Yoginis into our sphere of meditation. These Yoginis are from the Shaiva Tantra Tradition of Northern India where they were a popular practice over a 1000 years ago in the Swat Valley, high in their Himalayan Mountains of Kashmir. The Yoginis are messengers of a transitional primal power, the goddess, fierce compassion for change and upliftment and actually beyond the grasp of the conceptual mind. They are related to the elements and all the guises of our being. The Jnana Siddha Yoginis Practice help us recognize our own energies to push us through our blockages, samsara's, patterns, or issues. Tattva Bhavana Yoga Nidra Meditation Recorded live at Blue Hot Yoga www.bluehotyoga.com after a classic hot Hatha Yoga Practice by instructor Melissa Abbott www.melissaabbott.com on Jan 4, 2022 accompanied by Crystal Singing Bowls.  In the Yogic Tradition of Shaiva Tantra Meditation Techniques, Tattva Bhavana is a beautiful relaxing practice which accesses the non dual state. Bhavana means feeling, Tattva means feeling into what is…. In essence, you are tuning into your consciousness awareness by softening your senses and opening up to your entire field of awareness. Be willing to see things with equanimity.  This is an early Meditation Technique that is just as fresh and new as it was 1000 years ago in northern India and Kashmir regions.  Enjoy  in a quiet place, Melissa
