Description

About the Girls is a place for the every day girls to gather to share stories of grace and be an encouragement to others in similar situations. We hope this is a space for the girl who is right in the middle of what she thinks might break her, to feel a little less alone. About the Girls is based on the idea that sharing stories of girls just like you will help us all to love a little more, judge a little less, and build a community of girls cheering each other on. Ultimately, our stories remind us of grace and point us back to Jesus. Hang with us as we share stories ABOUT THE GIRLS!

Infertility. Miscarriage. Joy. Triumph. Sadness. Grief. Pain. Celebration. Loneliness.  We are talking about all of the pieces that are a part of Motherhood. This week, as we look ahead to Mother’ Day, we are joined by Lauren Frampton, Connie Greenhagen and Kristin Miller. 3 moms with 3 very different stories to bring you encouragement and maybe even some laughs. These women are graciously and honestly opening up about mothering in quarantine, failures, and diving into the different and sometimes painful roads to becoming moms. No matter what your story is and whatever this day brings up for you we hope you feel seen, find hope and in the end we hope the stories of these incredible women point you to Jesus. Available on the Podcast App, iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. Whether you’re trying to keep it together for your kids as you watch the news and take in all that is happening, you need some encouragement while you’re stuck inside with your littles, or if your heart just needs a reminder for the everyday, this episode is for you! We have invited two incredible moms to join us for a special episode where we talk about the hard parts of motherhood and the lessons they’ve learned. The point of this episode is not to focus on the Coronavirus or the craziness that seems to be happening all around us. The point of this episode is to shift our focus, encourage our hearts, and remind us that our call to show our kids Jesus hasn’t changed. We are not powerless, things are not hopeless, and we GET to raise little people that see us continue to point to Jesus. Available on the Podcast App, iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. About Love and ParentingRodney and Shannon Fouts share three children and they are the pastors of North Church in Oklahoma City. For the final episode of February’s “Love and…” series, Kayla sat down with North Church pastors, Rodney and Shannon Fouts to talk Parenting. While they wanted to make it clear that no one has it all figured out, they offered so much wisdom and encouragement on raising kids and leading our homes well. This conversation is all about navigating activities while prioritizing church, loving our spouses well while we parent together, practical tips for making Jesus known in our homes and more. We even talk a little about the empty nest stage! This is a conversation we hope every parent, every person who hopes to be a parent, or anyone who has influence over children will listen to. They say “it takes a village” and what better way to grow as parents than to take in wisdom from the people around us who do it well and are ahead of us? We are so grateful for Pastors Rodney and Shannon and their willingness to have this conversation. We hope you love it! Available on the Podcast App, iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. Elizabeth Ward is one of the worship leaders at North Church. She is a wife to Jordan and mom to baby Noah. So many women experience trauma or just really difficult circumstances bringing children into their families, whether it’s through labor and delivery or another means of adding to the family. So much of that pain isn’t spoken about for fear of being “dramatic” or not being “strong enough.” Elizabeth shares about missing some of her son’s newborn moments, the fear of being a burden to others and letting them see us at our low points, and the lie that we are alone in our suffering. Elizabeth goes on to share the reality of PostPartum Depression and the shame that can come with it. Out of the pain she experienced, Elizabeth talks about God’s faithfulness and how he has used her story to help others through her worship album, titled Selah. Ryan and Lauren Frampton have been married for ten years and share two kiddos together. They love time at the lake, spending time with friends, and cheering on the Thunder! On this episode, we talk about navigating grief and hard things during the holidays, and how we can choose Jesus and show up for the joy, even while navigating the grief. We do not by any means have grief figured out and we are not therapists or licensed professionals at dealing with hard stuff. But when you’ve walked through hard, sometimes your experience is the best way to encourage others going through it. Whether it’s a pregnancy that hasn’t happened, a pregnancy that didn’t end with a baby in your arms, a death , broken relationships, anything that is hard we just want to remind you that you’re not alone, encourage you to lean into your people who love you and let them support you and let them point you to Jesus. He is the reason we celebrate, and no matter what we walk through, he is still good and God still sent his son and that is something we can all celebrate.Available on the Podcast App, iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.
