We want to apologize for the sound issues on this episode. Kris was such a great guest, especially since she is our first face-to-face-social-distant guest! We are so thankful for her willingness to share her story.  And...Brian, as the producers wants to apologize to Marnie and Kris, because we recorded this back in August and no one told me that it didn't upload. Thanks for being patient with me! Please remember to email us at maximandmarnie@gmail.com for any future podcast ideas!

Sarah Swindall is a member of OSLC and a current Seminarian student. During this Quarantine, her internship has quickly changed and now there's unrest blocks away from her internship site due to the murder of George Floyd. This conversation is just a start, but we hope that our listeners join us in condemning the white supremacy that has led to the deaths of so many unarmed black, indigenous, and persons of color in this country.   We grieve with, pray for, and stand in solidarity with the families and friends of all whose loved ones have been and continue to be victims of injustice, oppression, racist violence, and hatred in our local community and in our world.  If you want to have any further conversations about what we could be doing as a community, Please email Pastor Brian at pastorbrian@oursaviours.com

Marnie and Pr. Brian had a chance to sit down (online) with Tyler Henderson for an update on his health and how social distancing. While this time can be difficult, Tyler shared some wisdom between the difference between Creating and Consuming and finding a healthy balance. Tyler's gifts have been awesome for our congregation during this time, and he has shared a special track between he and Pastor Brian, just for our listeners!  Feel free to email us at maximandmarnie@gmail.com

We are happy that we will be able to release new episodes during this time and look forward to sharing more stories with you.  Is Maxim and Marnie helping you during this time of Social Distancing? During this time of social distancing (I accidentally keep on saying disconnecting), It's important for us to share our stories with one another. Normally I have a podcast with Marnie called "Maxim and Marnie" but every once in a while, during this time apart, I am going to be recording a few more shows for our church and releasing them here.  Connections are important and what's more important is being able to share what's working and being truthful about when it doesn't work out as well as we've planned. Liza is a member of our congregation who is trying to use social media to help families connect, even if we find ourselves apart right now. From Daily life with her family, teaching, leading, and more, I have found her approach as positive and one that could be helpful to many.  I really appreciated Liza's reflection on missing our church and sitting next to her family. I miss our church family too.  If you're listening, know that I pray for you and hope we can continue to connect in meaningful ways....and I look forward to seeing you again.  Peace, Pr. Brian

In the meantime, Here's a brief reflection about my Texas Mom, GiGi, and her advice during Dominoes! feel free to email me at Pastorbrian@oursaviours.com
