DEALF University, a center of excellence for higher education, was established by America’s one percent as an initiative to help educate the nation’s less fortunate. Although, income inequality has become progressively worse over the years, there are many brilliant and talented minds among this group, who demonstrated potential to become leaders. The one percent used these rising stars as scapegoats in an attempt to protect their wealth –– pooling together large sums of capital to form a charitable initiative. They created a university to assist in grooming the country’s next leaders, which on the surface seemed like an incredibly philanthropic gesture. But the true intentions of DEALF University would take years to come to light.

Blaine, a natural skeptic, had an uneasy feeling about DEALF University. He found it strange that the university provided free tuition to all of its students, and these feelings were exacerbated after hearing the Dean of students’ –– known as the Warden –– speech during the welcome ceremony. Blaine wasn’t alone in how he felt. There were a number of students who felt the same uneasiness, but they focused on the fact that they were getting their tuition paid in full and therefore did not feel the same sense of obligation to uncovering the truth as Blaine.
Blaine wanted to give DEALF University a fighting chance even though his doubts continued to grow. That was until he sat down to begin his daily meditation session. It was in a deep meditative state that Blaine connected with a young man close to his age who appeared to have been shot in the head. The individual approached Blaine to reveal the secrets of DEALF University. If Blaine wanted to find out more, he would need to follow the young man's instructions.
Blaine’s meditative travel back to 1865 not only taught him the true intentions of university but also how talents of his people have been stifled by suppression over the years. He was not the only person to benefit from his time travel. Elijah, who used Blaine as a passageway to look into the future, was astonished by what he saw. He could not believe the destruction his people continued to endure over the years.
The Warden was successful at stopping the young man, who previously attempted to reveal the true intention of the university. But he knew he could not silence Blaine in the same way. Blaine’s destiny was prewritten and there was nothing the Warden nor anyone else could do to derail him. How far will the Warden go to keep the university’s secrets in the dark?
With a little push, the suppression which once held down the less fortunate from achieving their potential was released. What followed was a true story of economic success and prosperity. America’s less fortunate was now America’s rising stars.
