Description

Energy Never Dies is a podcast created by lifelong friends that are living completely different lives. Together they work on accepting responsibility while contemplating and investigating the energy they put out into the world. They touch on controversial topics in a “think out loud” dialogue. Their goal is to have a public platform where they can think openly, honestly, and safely while perpetuating different thoughts and positive energy. They open up and work through life’s struggles in the hopes that their stories will encourage others to reflect on their own energies in order to live a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

What happens when you peel back everything? Your looks. Your hair. Your strength. Your health. Who are you without the identity you think you have created? In this episode, Hanna releases her attachment to her perceived identities in real-time with the help of her spiritual teacher Tamara. Tamara shows us all, what it means to be stripped of who we think we are and what we are left with when its all taken away. What are you left with when you start to peel back your many roles and perceived identities?
This might be the most transparent, real, raw episode yet! Tamara and Hanna are normally very open about their thoughts on religion, spirituality and their openness in accepting others' beliefs and views on religion/spirituality as long as what they believe doesn't hurt or discriminate against others. In their openness, they have been approached by individuals that want the girls to adopt their 'truth'.  While they know and hope these messages come from a good place, do the messengers know how their words affect someone that is deep into their own spiritual journey? Moreover, what it does to someone that has found peace in her spirituality while coping with a terminal illness. A very real question the girls ask is, "If I don't accept your truth, are you saying I am going to hell?" In previous episodes, although open to all healthy and positive beliefs the girls might have been vague about their own personal belief systems, in this episode, you will get their entire heart. Whatever you believe, protect your peace and protect your spiritual journey.
In Tamara and Hanna's quest to explore different lifestyles they have brought on a special guest, Nanci Kennedy. The girls 'found' Nanci through Instagram.  Nanci connected with them after listening to a podcast they had with Annie Knoll. She is a listener-turned guest! Nanci describes her lifestyle as - cultivating peace, grace and intention through mindful parenting, eclectic homeschooling and regenerative farming. They learn what natural living means to Nanci's family, especially when it comes to food and products. One of the many benefits of natural living is how it spills into her parenting. They have a very honest conversation about gentle/conscious/mindful parenting verse the parenting styles we are more accustomed to. Nanci was a lovely guest and we hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did! Books Referenced: The Conscious Parent: Transforming Ourselves, Empowering Our Children  by Dr. Shefali TsabaryThe Awakened Family: How to Raise Empowered, Resilient, and Conscious Children by Dr. Shefali TsabaryOut of Control: Why Disciplining Your Child Doesn't Work and What Will by Dr. Shefali Tsabar
In this episode, Tamara and Hanna explore the lifestyles of polyamory, open relationships, polygamy and more...The girls find themselves asking, why are these lifestyles be viewed as taboo? They really dive into a topic that is so far from their norm. In that, they breakdown the different energies, yet are able to empathize and relate.  The big question is - Would you ever consider being in throuple or open relationship? They reference a lot of content throughout the episode those links and titles are listed below: Aubrey Marcus and Whitney Miller - Open Relationships https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DLuzqHuMt0Aubrey Marcus on transitioning from poly to monogamy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EFHC0WsAooThere is no "I" in threesome-HBO Max Polylove - Amazon Prime Is An Unconventional Relationship Right For You?- Red Table Talk  https://www.facebook.com/redtabletalk/videos/1056627008014007/3 wives 1 husband - Netflix Sex at Dawn by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha (Book)

In this episode, Tamara and Hanna speak with special guest Daedra Logan in great detail regarding her rape while in the military and how it was handled. We discuss the assault, the steps she had to take in order to try to get justice and the continued fight to be heard in the hopes of helping other women.  Daedra opens up completely, she holds back nothing as she tells her story. She says, "its time to get LOUD" and rightfully so!Daedra - I hear you, I believe you and I support you. #IamVanessaGuillen
COVID-19

COVID-19

2020-04-1201:28:56

In this episode, Tamara and Hanna discuss the big topic of today, COVID-19. You may agree or disagree with a lot of their thoughts, however, their main concern is that we all stay safe. Each gal has an interesting perspective on the topic, such that Tamara is on an aggressive chemo treatment and Hanna was 40 weeks pregnant when this was recorded. Stay Safe. Stay Home. Be Mindful. Social Distance.
In this episode, Hanna and Tamara dive into pregnancy. You will learn about Hanna's story, in finding out she was pregnant in Vietnam, her experiences with doctors in the least developed and developing countries and how her spiritual journey has prepared her for this next part of her Artful Journey.
For the first time, since launching Energy Never Dies, Hanna and Tamara sit down in the same room to record a podcast. Not only are they in the same city and room, but they are joined by two very special, reoccurring guests, Jarrod Ward and Tony Goldsby. In the midst of the world dealing with the COVID-19, these four sit down to discuss time. What is time, is it real, how much of it do we have left, what do we do with time? In a situation like this, a world pandemic and quarantine, where we find ourselves with loads of time, what are we doing with that time? Where is our attention going? Time is an illusion, we use it to coordinate with other human beings. In doing so, time seems finite especially when considering death. We view time to be very limited and we are rushing to figure out what it is we are doing here on this planet - could we curb that feeling of being rushed if we perceived time differently? You may find like these four did, that having a conversation around death and time is impossible to do without incorporating beliefs, religion and philosophy. This is a deep conversation that they hope you will listen to and not be 'scared' away by the topic. In the west, death is feared, but by fearing it are we missing out on the beauty of life as it is, was and what will or could be after the expiration of this human life?
As you can see this is a lengthy episode, but it is certainly worth a listen even if you have to break up your listening sessions! The best way to introduce this episode is by giving a little background on Tamara's state of mind weeks before this episode was recorded.  Tamara wrote Hanna a text on February 12, 2020, that said, "I had scans done yesterday. Unfortunately, which I knew, the cancer is significantly worse. My liver is now covered in tumors. So I'm reluctantly starting IV chemo on Monday. I’m so emotionally exhausted from this life. I collapsed on Monday in the backfield looking for Frank (her lost dog) and had to be carried back to the house. My body is just giving out on me." When Hanna received that text she thought to herself, "Is this the beginning of the end?" On February 17, 2020, Tamara went in for her first chemo infusion where she went into anaphylactic shock. The nurses and doctors were able to quickly open her airway and get her breathing again. In true Tamara fashion, she didn't give up and went back for a second treatment. That act of going back and accepting the chemo as part of her healing process has taken her to a new 'plane'. It's hard to say what has changed for Tamara, maybe it was the anaphylactic shock, accepting her present as is or a deep understanding of how much she is loved - whatever it was, there has certainly been a deep mental shift and it unfolds before you in this episode. Through this conversation, you can literally hear Tamara's transformation from a down and out cancer patient to a strong, resilient human being that wants to truly understand herself and explore her mind. This is such an impactful and inspirational episode in Tamara's journey through cancer.
In this episode, Tamara and Hanna sit back down with the beautiful Annie Noll as she opens up and becomes very vulnerable in sharing her journey through an eating disorder, body image issues and how she is learning to listen to the intelligence of her body. Annie holds nothing back when sharing her story - she talks about her diagnoses, therapy, lessons learned and, in true Energy Never Dies, fashion she keeps it raw and real!Annie takes us from a perception of there are only two types of bodies - a perfect body or a body that needs to be fixed to wanting her daughter to have the experience of knowing herself beyond beauty. This is a true story of learning how to love yourself, be yourself and even beyond that finding appreciation for the human that you are.
"Death isn't actually an end, it's just a change." - Annie Noll This might be one of the most powerful episodes that the girls have done thus far! They talk to the very lovely Annie Noll about her journey and experience of watching her son fight through and pass away from neuroblastoma. There is a beauty to Annie, in that she is able to tell her and her son's painful story with such grace and elegance. She has an incredible gift of expressing suffering and the human condition in a way that you can feel and see the pain, but within that pain, you see the absolute beauty of what it means to be a human being. She is a person that you can relate to, admire, grieve for, celebrate with and respect. Annie was one of those gals that had it all!  She was married to her college sweetheart, she had an excellent career ahead of her at a prestigious ad agency, owned a lovely home and in November of 2011 gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Things were good, however, as life does she and her family were shaken when her son was diagnosed with Stage Four, High-Risk Neuroblastoma at the age of 3 years old. They fought for 2.5 years when Jonah passed at the age of 5. At that time Annie was 32 weeks pregnant with her second son Harrison. In this podcast, you not only hear about the journey that Annie and her family took during her son's illness but how this has changed her perspective on life, suffering, living, the other side, heaven, connecting with her son on a different plane, religion, spirituality, the human condition and so much more... Annie is an amazing human that is able to frame life in such a way that seeing the light through the darkness makes sense.  We are so grateful that she joined us for such an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation. Stay tuned for Part II with Annie Noll. You can follow Annie on Instagram and Facebook: https://www.instagram.com/anniejnoll/https://www.facebook.com/annie.noll
In the final episode of Season 1, Tamara and Hanna connect with a former Norton High School Alum, Jennifer Milnes to explore the strong female energy through the eyes of a woman in the military. In the podcast, small-town girl to global nomad Hanna mentions that she gravitates towards the male energy and she would like to remedy that by exploring her own feminity as well as connecting to other female energies.  They thought a good place to start would be by hearing stories from strong women that grew up in their hometown. Jennifer Milnes enlisted in the Kansas National Guard at the age of 17, she has been working public affairs for the last 5 years, she has worked with Germans, Italians, Norwegians, Jordanians, Kuwaitis, Omanis, Nigerians, and Ethiopians. She has also traveled to Qatar, Iraq, and the UAE for military work. She is currently a Staff Sergeant and hopefully will be getting promoted to Sergeant First Class next month. The three of them discuss matters around the world, government, politics, growing up in a small town and what it is like to be a female in the military. Hanna and Tamara are very grateful that Jenn shared so openly about her experience in the military and look forward to having more strong female guests in Season 2 of Energy Never Dies coming to you in 2020.
In this episode, Tamara opens up about her determination to take control of her cancer. She begins to question what she is being told and embarks on a journey to find answers for herself. She takes responsibility for her cancer by becoming an active participant in the search for her cure and hashes through what she wants to accomplish moving forward. It takes a lot of courage to question doctors and Tamara does just that. She is finding a combination of medicine, self-discovery and conviction to beat her cancer. Tamara gets raw about what it is like to want to give up. The girls discuss methods to alter our mindset and together they find little ways to tweak the direction of Tamara's thoughts. In keeping up with the theme of living two very different lives, the conversation shifts to Bali where Hanna shares what she has learned about life from the energy of the beautiful Balinese people she has encountered.  At the end of the conversation, both Tamara and Hanna decide on small things they can each work on this week to shine light in their lives. What little things can you adjust this week to transform your mindset and maybe make life a little more enjoyable?
In this episode, Tamara and Hanna dive into Hanna's journey from growing up in a town of fewer than 3,000 people to a nomad traveling around the world. They share a common bond in their upbringing in Norton, KS. They get nostalgic about what it's like to grow up in a small town, how that small-town lifestyle provided a solid foundation for who they are today and they talk about some disadvantages of living in rural America. They touch on Hanna's transition and experience into college before they start to talk about the glamours life in Dallas. Dallas proved to be fun, flashy and seductive for Hanna, but stay tuned for how difficult it became for her to maintain an 'image' instead of being her authentic self. They wrap up the conversation with Hanna's life as a nomad. What is most important to her are the lessons she has learned on this unique journey and her hopes to live through those lessons when she transitions to life back in the United States.
In this episode, the girls have a very special guest, Tamara's older sister - Faith Flory! They discuss the unbreakable sisterly bond that Tamara and Faith share, as well as the evolution of that relationship with funny stories from their childhood, college and adulthood.Faith opens up about what it is like to feel helpless, at times, in her sister's fight for her life. Their sisterly bond allows them to get real and talk about the hard stuff - funeral, death and final wishes. As you might guess this is an emotional episode filled with love and support. It is very brave of them both to share their story in hopes that other families with trauma can find a way to communicate openly and honestly with their loved ones. A special thank you to Faith Flory!
In this episode, Tamara and Hanna explore this idea of a moral compass and dig into their surface understandings of religion. They discuss common issues they both see in religion, however, do reconcile it some with the benefits and moral compass that religion can provide. Tamara opens up about whether or not she thinks it is necessary to seek religion or something more because of her terminal illness. Don't miss a beautiful moment when Tamara surrenders some and expresses this notion of - what every happens 'after' will be okay. The ideas discussed came organically - they are based on their opinions and are limited by their own personal experience and knowledge, in that the ideas are incomplete in a true conversation format. This leaves a lot of room for continued discussion and dialogue that they would love you to be a part of. Please do email them your thoughts at energyneverdies2019@gmail.com or direct message them or add comments to their Instagram posts @energyneverdies2019.
Divorce is such a heavy word that Tamara and Hanna tackle head on in this episode. In a think out loud dialogue they focus in on Hanna’s short marriage and divorce. How did she find herself in the relationship, what signs did she ignored, how did her ego get her into trouble, why she felt like an awful person and what did she learn? Through discussing divorce they try to define modern day marriage and reveal what they have found makes a solid foundation in a relationship of mutual love and respect.
Over the last couple of weeks Tamara and Hanna took a brief hiatus from podcasting. Where in the world have they been? In this episode, they catch up discussing Hanna’s most recent travels and adventures throughout the beautiful countryside of Viet Nam. She spent 8 days on the road visiting -  Hue, Ho An, Hanoi and Ninh Binh. Tamara has been recovering from a very painful surgery. They talk about the pressure to have the surgery, how she came to terms with it and how she is dealing with the aftermath of being cut into and stuffed with metal rods.
