Description

This is a podcast about volunteering in a modern day civil war, civilian life, and everything in between. This is a platform for people who have risked their lives for a common good, and how to cope with the day to day afterwards. Don’t take anything too seriously with this podcast, we’re just a couple of dudes having fun and educating the masses.

Episode 9: We back

2020-05-2001:03:41

Just getting back up to speed after a couple months off the podcast. We go over some of whats been going on since we last spoke and answer a couple questions. Follow @tactikurd and hit the link in his bio for Ghanima T-shirts!
In episode 8 we sit down and talk to River AKA Heval Tekoser. A former US Navy fireman and combat medic in the YPG's infamous TMU Medical unit. River is also a documentary film maker, filming shows for Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, and more. He is the maker of the 2019 documentary 'The Volunteers' where he documented his time with the YPG's first ever medical unit during the bloody battle of Manbij. Join us as we sit back and reflect with one of Firat's closest friends from the war.
In todays episode we talk to our dear friend John AKA Dijwar who was a part of the 223 Sniper unit during the battle of Raqqa. We couldnt possibly fit the stories these two have in to one episode so we keep this one short and sweet until next time...Join us and listen to his story and how he got there.
Our hosts Firat and Grady discuss some of the things that have happened since our last episode. We talk about everything from the current situation with Turkey and all the rest of the players involved, to answering a few questions from instagram. We just wanted to put out a short episode to let everyone know that we are still here, and the podcast should be back to regular posting! We will also be announcing the date of the Ghanima raffle, so listen carefully and save the date! Much love everyone, thank you for your patience while the podcast has been away. Please make sure to subscribe on your favorite platform, and share the podcast with your friends, it all helps.
In episode 5 we have on our very first guest Jeff to speak about his time in Syria. Jeff is a US Army vet who volunteered for the YPG in 2015...he was there with Firat in the Academy, during their first operations, and more. We are thrilled to have him on the show, and also we will have some more information about the raffle towards the end of the episode. We hope everyone enjoys, and please remember to like, subscribe, and share the podcast!
In this episode we are just getting back into the swing of things after a short break. We will be answering questions submitted by listeners and catching up for a bit. We hope you enjoy, and make sure to share the podcast, and we will be back for more soon.
